joshatatlasstands
I'd want to countersink a cylindrical space for your beer…I mean beverage... and seal it from excessive moisture evaporation in humid climates...not a problem! lol…true geek here :) Someday Im actually gonna build an amplifier using one of those!…I mean these. with only 24hrs in a day…uuuugh
skilsaw
Truly works of art, The lustre of the clear coated wood gives the stand a certain elegance and class. As opposed to the bling factor of something similar chromed. Unique aristocratic presence. Well done.

joshatatlasstands
Finished this Amp Builder's/Tech Chassis Stand this week…Red Oak. The next one will have a waterproof tray for a sponge, a breadboard, and a power outlet with on/off switch built in. I'll also try to get the arms to pivot 360 degrees and clamp to the chassis at some point.
Guest Farnsbarns
Finished this Amp Builder's/Tech Chassis Stand this week…Red Oak. The next one will have a waterproof tray for a sponge, a breadboard, and a power outlet with on/off switch built in. I'll also try to get the arms to pivot 360 degrees and clamp to the chassis at some point. Oh please do. I've been looking at your design for a long time and thinking what a shame it is that it won't work with the chassis I use. If you lost the hooks on the supports and they clamped the chassis it would. I've considered making one but I never find the time and it would never come close to yours. For now I use a thing cobled together from 1 3/4" pine battons but I have to keep lifting the chassis of to turn them over. A pain.
joshatatlasstands
Happy to make that happen for ya, Farns :) wink, wink…nudge, nudge Changed the direction of the grain on the guitar stands, thinking it looks better running horizontal…finished these two up recently. Used up some reclaimed Wormy Chestnut rafters off an over-a-century old roof structure in North Carolina. Something similar in basswood next. joshatatlasstands
This is the latest solid sassafras Atlas Studio Amp Stand I built from a few weeks ago. I've been covered up lately and just now getting around to sharing. Its the same wood as the 1968 Ampeg that's sitting on it, just not been popped black, sanded back down and then stained English Chestnut. Originally I was going to keep it for myself and my Ampeg. It's gone to CA now.

joshatatlasstands
Went with Walnut sides and a Butternut center piece here, kept the stock on this one as thick as possible. Somewhat rustic as well with some of the wane wood and wormholes.

sg50
You do beautiful work. The thick stock really does give it a country feel, it's a nice juxtaposition between natural and finished.

Thanks! I like the thick stock best on guitar stands, but they can get quite heavy.
