Anybody got Lion OS installed and running yet?

I have been beta testing lion for the last 7-9 months..

With each new seed update, they took stuff away, like new features, ect... only to let

out some each time.. and added at different seeds..

I do still have a seed copy of Lion I use here and there...

A question for those of you that have it now...

All the Apple Developer seeds which I have used, it always has a real bad flaw it used. I think Apple does it on purpose, so the developers have to switch to get the querks back out for the final product.

The examples I know right away are, the side scroll bar did disappear on earlier seeds, but not all, also,

the mouse scroll goes backwards on my latest Lion seed...

Therer many others that I know that did this to as well.

Now, did they fix that with the final product, or is it still backwards??? It really cheeses me off....

The scroll is backwards but you can change it in the settings. Who in the hell pushes up to scroll down???

Now that I think about it Andy,

Is the setting for scrolling in the settings for an Apple mouse, like the magic mouse,

Cuz I am using a logitech MX mouse, and I'm not for certain, but,

Last time I looked at Logitechs homepage, there still wasn't an update yet.msp_confused.gif

The scroll is not backwards it's done that way intentionally so that it is a more natural feel on tablets and even the touchpad on a notebook. While it seems strange for a few minutes on a mouse it actually is a better more natural feel on a trackpad. it also makes more sense on the multi finger motions that are now built in also.

Humbly Disagree. I only use the touchpad on my macbook pro and makes no sense for me to push up to move the page down. It came default that way and lion reverses it. But that's why they make an option to switch... as one man's up is another man's down! [biggrin]

Try scrolling up on the trackpad again. Which way does the page scroll? It scrolls up, it's the viewpoint that moves down.

It's strange, yes - but only because we've been conditioned that way for decades. I'm starting to find it intuitive.

The way you and me are used to, we scroll up on the trackpad to scroll the page down.

Yep exactly. I had a high end commercial video editing system we used to produce cable television content at work starting in the mid 80's. it worked this way and I got to the point this felt more natural than the standard mouse scroll glad they finally made it a option here.

what a pleasant surprise that you can now resize windows from _any_ side! it must have been a concession to all the switchers out there...

this was by far the smoothest OS upgrade i've ever done, on any platform.

Actually I said that backwards,,, What I mean is I prefer to pull downward towards me to make the page scroll down and push forward toward the screen to make the page scroll up...

Avid System?

We used the pre Sony Avid equipment for shorter stuff most of the 30 minute or longer shows were done on a couple of Sony Professional broadcast systems based around the Sony ES-7 hardware. This was in the early 90's when non-linear was pretty new and desktop pc's were still so wimpy that it still required lot's of proprietary hardware. It was pretty easy to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars on hardware to produce real time video that a standard desktop Avid system can do today. We still had to post to 3/4 inch for broadcast about 75% of the time.
