zZounds seems to have most of the new ES stuff, and most of the other new releases we haven't heard much about, available for pre-order now. They don't even have pics of most of them yet though.

Dwight Trash is $2,200

Ultra 339 is $800

ES-339 is $500

Here's a link. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Great catch.

I did contact GC by phone and they are going to see if they can special order the AW ES-355.

Worth a try.

I guess GC and Musician's Friend got the Royals and the other outlets are going to get the rest.

I am waiting to see who carrys the AW ES-355. I will buy from them.

The ES-345 with the VariTone is on my short list also.

This might sound dumb, but the 345 is sterio and has two outlets.

I have a fender amp that has two inputs.

Would that work?

Or would I need two separate amps?

Well it has stereo output as an option, but you can use it just like normal (mono) if you want.

Unless the amp is wired for each channel to amplify a separate speaker, using discrete amp inputs will not sound much different than mono, unless each channel has different built-in or outboard effects loops. Even then, it would not sound nearly as "stereo" as two separate amps placed at some distance apart. I fooled around with this a bit back in my gigging days, and you can get some fairly wild effects with a stereo power amp and two separate speaker cabs. The question is whether the audience notices and whether the sound guy manages to mirror it in the mix. I was generally disappointed with the effect on any stage that mixed guitar into the mains - they tend to mic one cab or are too preoccupied with other issues. In a small venue it was possible to make it work, and kinda fun to have two cabs making different noises.

PS, I'm all over the Dwight Trash - I have dibs on the first "Condition 1" customer return on the MF website...

Oh, and the non-Ultra ES-339 is a done deal. I have a pair WB humbuckers just waiting for a new home....

Thanks guys for the info.

I know it was kind of a newbe question, but I follow the logic, if you don't know, ask.

+1 Brian on the 1st Condition 1 return.

When the price was established on the Trash, it just confirmed that I can get both the 345 and the 355 including cases for under that.

I think AW in the 345 just because I don't think the 355 AW will hit the outlets.

Plus the cherry 355 is kind of classic.

Looks like Christmas will come early this year.

Nice. Looks like they have the Phant-O-Matic also.

For those of you who have never dealt with Zzounds, their service is very good. I bought my Blackheart Killer Ant from them.

Their 4 payment plan is a nice deal if you don't have the cash all at once. They split the purchase into 4 equal payments on your own card.

let us know how that sounds & plays before & after p/u switch. I've got a Gibby 339 and really like it. Looks like Epi is doing the "Dot version of the 339". [thumbup]

i think the dwight trash is all kinds of nifty, but the dice, pick guard and price and deal breakers. and i'm not a sig guitar kinda guy. but i love the basic idea- the remixed headstock and colors. the headstock is distinct enough that i doesn't need any dice or names on it. maybe something to keep an eye out for when they get blown out, or on the used market. always wanted to try a casino, but the natural and burst are too plain and commonplace for me.
