Had these on lay away for 3 weeks. The Sheraton is a Korean Samick. Both were setup nicely and in near mint condition. The Sheraton is a stunner that this picture doesn't do justice to. The LP has a bit different and resonant tone because of the lack of any finishing coat. It too looks amazing with the red, white and gold contrasts.

I was able to sell off enough gear to substantially offset the cost; girlfriend is happy and consequently so am I

OK, now after a day or so to put these through their paces I've gotta say that the Sheraton is a competent replacement for my beloved Peerless Casino that I unwittingly sold a couple months ago on Ebay (not realizing that the current MIC offerring doesn't compare in the least to the MIK). No P90's but the classic pups still have a growl to 'em as well as a dreamy clean tone. I love the Sherries beefy neck. It's close to a 50's but not quite--definitely much thicker than the Casino's-which was my one and only dislike with it. The guits weight is substantial which I like. It feels like you've got a real instrument in your hands. Overall, it's like a cross between my Joe Pass, Ibanez Af75 and Gretsch 5120 The Bigsby is an added plus. This one isn't going anywhere. It's a total keeper.

The LP surprised me with it's dynamic sounding pups, much more in your face than my other Epi LP's (great pinch harmonics!). It's a bit heavier too and the neck just ever so slightly beefier than the normal standard (probably attributable to a lack of consistency more than a deliberate factory spec). I just love the look and feel. Aesthetically, It's not your typical LP and since they're discontinued I'll hang onto it.

So, two keepers.....at least for now lol.......go figure. Thanks for the comments everybody [thumbup]

Nice couple you got there. Are those filtertrons i spy on the sherry?

You know, I just figured they were stock pups. I have a Gretsch and the Sherries pups do look like filterons somewhat. Does anyone know if these are some kind of upgraded pups? I'll do a macro shot and post it.

GFS Dream 180s maybe?

I agree. I swore they had a bit of a growl...different than stock alinco's.

I posted same but didn't realize that the GFS graphic is disallowed on this forum (???). Kept posting and reposting...but it kept disappearing...LOL.

Thanks you guys.....didn't even realize the pups were not stock [razz]

real good score there!! HNGx2D

I think a Sheraton is a MUST have for anybody w/more than 1 guitar[thumbup]

I bet they're amazing thru that Twin sittin' behind them [woot] ....how old is it?

Guitar Center said it is a '69 but from what I can gather from the transformer codes its more like a '70...but I stick with '69 'cause it draws a better reaction [flapper] .

The Twin really is the holy grail of cleans, can't believe I got it for $399! Still scratching my head over that one.
