Daryl M
So many are great ones, for so many reasons. The ones that never fail to stir my soul from a variety of genres are Frank Sinatra, Steve Perry, Don Williams, Michael English, and Larry Sparks. FirstMeasure
Since seeing Priest I have to say Rob Halford. In his 60's and still nailing "Victim of Changes"! Outa Sight!!
Kimbabig
I wouldn't really say his voice is the best (don't get me wrong, it's still a great voice) but he's an amazing songwriter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDq36YD1ESM&feature=BFp&list=FLUKSvJIym9XS-NrjokCKHGg
kaleb
Eddie Vedder, Myles Kennedy ( although I don't care too much for Alter Bridge, and he just can't fit in with Sl00sh ), Chris Cornell, Peter Criss ( Black Diamond live in 77'. The little guy sang his whiskers off!!! ), Geddy Lee ( the last verse in Freewill amazes me. I wonder who squeezed his nuts? LERXST!!!! But Ged can't sing no more. Its true ), Robert Plant ( again, can't sing no more tho. ), Bon F'n Scott!, Brian Johnson, Ian Gillan ( but no more ), Mercury, Dio, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Glen Hughes, Jonny Lang, Tom Petty, and more.... Morkolo
I'll have to add David Lee Roth to my list, definitely not a singer known for his vocal range. But no one can sing classic Van Halen like he can whether Eddie or Alex want to admit that or not.

truetoneoutlaw
well although i am not a huge fan of shinedown, Brent Smith has pipes and is very talented for new rock. So is the lead singer for Black Stone Cherry, Chris Robertson. As for greatest of all time I whould cast my vote for Robert Plant. With Chris Cornell and Layne Staley a close tie for 2nd. Meatloaf didnt make the list. Outlaw

pippy
What about singers that aren't the greatest, but you can't imagine the songs being sang by anyone else? Bob Dylan and Neil Young come to mind.... Bon Scott was another not gifted with the greatest singing voice but it was simply perfect for the job at hand. P. damian
Bob Dylan and Neil Young come to mind.... P. Bob Dylan was going to cover an Ozzy song, but he couldn't figure out the lyrics...... Notes_Norton
IMHO Jazz Vocalist Mark Murphy is the best there is: Great example of his extraordinary scat singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9wS1KB6iQ8 (Alto sax solo by the great Richie Cole) IMHO best albums are "Stolen Moments", "Mark Murphy Sings" and "Bop For Keoruac" Singing a Jobim tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MDZkaFo1Ik To be continued... Notes_Norton
Continued from above: Different style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdF0AcklZNs&feature=related Some bluesy jazz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfFSs_xTTEM Truly a singer's singer. I've met him a couple of times, and he is a very warm, humble, and personable human being. Notes
