  1. New Gibson Palor

    26 October 2017 - 10:41 AM

The wife and I are currently vacationing in SOCAL in the San Clemente area, I stopped in the Guitar Center in Lake Forrest and saw a a couple things I had not seen before. Obviously the 2018 models I had not seen before like the Parlor, the one I saw was sunburst and a Hummingbird natural cut-out, which by the way played beautifully. Has anyone had a chance to play the '18's yet? I was only able to play the Bird, and it was great. The other thing that caught me off guard was that all the high end acoustics were individually locked on their hanger, I have never seen that before. There is no such thing in my neck of the woods yet. I am not a fan because I do not like having to ask for each one I want to try. Oh well it was still great to get into a store that actually have planty of acoustics and neww Gibby stock.
  2. Sweetwater Gearfest/ Don Ruffatto

    27 June 2017 - 12:07 PM

I attended Gearfest at Sweetwater this past Friday and Saturday since I live 55 miles from there and it is truely an amazing event. I met Don Ruffatto in the Gibson Acoustic tent and talked with him briefly both days. Don was very helpful and extremely nice and personable as well as being informative. Just wanted to give a shout-out to Don and thank him for putting up with us hoosiers. The Gearfest drew over 15,000 people for the two days and I am sure he was ready to get back home to Bozeman.
  3. learning to sing while playing

    08 May 2017 - 01:27 PM

Hello, Please forgive me for being so elementry but I have a problem singing and playing at the same time. Now don't get me wrong I am still reletively new to this by comparison to those on the board,So I also do not play well or sing well so trying to put the two together is proving to be rather difficult for me. My question is, are there practice techniques to help this problem specifically? Is it simply a matter of just keep doing it? Thanks for the patience and info.

To me that sounds like what they call the coney dog in this area. I just found out my niece is moving to Kingman AZ next month and I will go out to see her and then I will hit Chase. My wife and I are half way trying to get to all of them. So how long have you been playing guitar?

If I remember correctly, it had chili, cheese, mustard and onions. Globe Life Park has some interesting cuisine too: a 2 foot long hot dog (Boomstick) and a 2 foot long tamale (the V.M.T.) which is a tamale wrapped around a Boomstick. I haven't tried either so I can't comment on their taste. Chase Field is a great place to watch a game, especially when it's 115 degrees outside.

Humm??? What is on the dog? I go to cincy ball park every year(As well as Wrigley) and I have never had a cincy dog. Skyline chili is another story I am addicted to it. How did you like the Arizona ball park? I have been to exactly half of the ball parks and it is one I have not been to.

Yeah, after last year the stigma of being a Cubs Fan disappeared. I followed the Cubs and the Braves for many years because of their coverage on WGN and TBS, respectively. I transferred to Tucson in 1998 (expansion season for the Diamondbacks) and savored their WS victory in 2001. If you ever make it to Houston and Minute Maid Park, I suggest the Cincinnati Dog for chow. Oh so good.

Cubs fan, Finally I can say that without feeling I waited 47 years. Love the ball park in Arlington, I have not been to Houston yet. Astros are playing well. I have a grand total of 24 but it is equally divided at 12 acoustics and 12 electrics. Austin is a great music town huh?

Greetings. You are correct. I live in the Austin, TX metro area. I am the exact opposite when it comes to guitars: I own 7electric guitars and 2 electric basses. No acoustics as of yet.
Baseball fan? Cardinals? Cubs? White Sox? Looks like a great season here in TX. The Astos are off to a great start and the Rangers are playing better after a slow start.

It was actually out of the blue tour billed as the big night. in 1978. I could not remember the exact year but I know they were using the space ship as the stage and used a tremendous amount of lasers and the hot air balloon .

Thanks! I am hoping my brother in Oklahoma can make it out this way. They're like his favorite band—top 5 at the very least. Wouldn't 1979 have been their "Discovery" tour? "Out of the Blue" was '77, no?
