All the power to you. People can like whatever they want. I don’t think all new things are bad either - just to mention. I get into all sorts of rock from what’s called classic to heavy metal. There’s newer stuff for that today that’s alright I guess.

Glad you like it that much. If we are talking about corporate music, had to start somewhere. Not saying all music that was mass marketed was bad, but today’s corporate culture and what’s marketed today doesn’t have much to be desired - and it isn’t even just this era. It is what it is, I choose to not listen to that stuff as I have for years. Would be nice if music such as classic rock from the 60s and 70s was a thing today where we could actually think of timeless rock tunes being made today. I can’t name one after this era. Not saying all music after this era was garbage - before we go there. Willing to bet though I have a strong bias. Whatever, we all have them.

It’s not really an organ solo. It’s a band all jamming together very tight doing a great job raising the energy level. Then of course the tone of the guitar once it comes front and center in the brief solo… wow! But today who cares about instrumental stuff? Music today is made to be corporate crap that sells to the least common denominator. We are afraid to criticize the likes of what’s “popular” because you’re a hater - haha! Just such a watered down take on something that used to be good. YMMV

Listened to the radio (thing that plays music for free for those that don’t know what one is) this morning and love the Boston intro to Long Time… just wondered my bands/musicians/whatever we call them these days don’t do things like this anymore… that intro rocks. Guitars, more than just a cool looking thing that you hold onto on stage. In the case of the song of interest here, organs… well you don’t hold onto them, but they just have that sound that gets the rocking going. What songs have GD or TS made - or anyone these days - where there are instrumental intros that would even make me feel half as inspired as say radio favorite Long Time? I’m going out on a limb and saying this hasn’t happened.

I never got into Green Day and never will. I don’t care how hard it’s been to do whatever they have, I don’t enjoy their music. I also don’t enjoy Taylor music either. Wanna fight about it!

Based on my impression of your commentary and that you have an R8, I’d sell your Trad if it just isn’t being played. Put it up for a price you can live with to part ways and take your time for the right buyer to come along.

If we don’t like fees or rules, always Craigslist… no one is stopping anyone from starting up their own server and hosting a domain to list their used gear either. I wouldn’t want anyone to post their crap on my site for free either. I don’t advocate for any place, site, etc. just saying that it is what it is and what is one to do or one to go to for selling/buying used gear. Of course you could spend time scouring sites of shops that cater to used gear and see if they ship and the like. Just have to know what shops there are. I also have to think you make out better selling on say, Reverb than a trade in at any music store.

Sadly what options does one have to sell their gear and get as much exposure as say Reverb gives a seller? Maybe eBay at best but even then, I know that is not where a lot of people turn to firstly to find used gear. Just going to have to deal with Reverb any way it comes until the fees become too unbearable. Even consignment at a local music shop costs more than it does to sell on Reverb, but of course doing extra work to ship and the like. I’ve read so many threads that Reverb sucks, eBay, CL… its just beaten to death

I agree that it looks like a regular LP Custom. Serial numbers start with the CS would have me believe this as well as speed knobs and the like. Reissues have long neck tenons too, regular Custom does not. The bridge would also be ABR for reissue whereas I think I’m looking at a Nashville bridge in the pic. Nice guitar BTW

Let’s put this way why it’s important to understand how to maintain your neck relief. There are times when you pick up your guitar one day and you are getting buzzes, action differences, whatever. It ain’t right… if a guitar is set up properly at some point and this happens - one day - this means something changed. Wood is organic and it changes with the environment. No little elves are coming by in the middle of the night screwing with your bridge, saddles, etc so I don’t understand why people start screwing with this crap when the problem is because the neck moved. Fix the relief and all goes well. It takes a simple feeler gauge and capo with a little knowledge that can be picked up from tons of YouTube videos to make all well again. At least this is why I think all guitar players should learn how to adjust their neck relief. Either this or have someone on call… just want to make a point that it’s not a serious adjustment and it’s important to get this right.

Glad you gained the courage to do a simple adjustment that makes big differences to playability of a guitar. I live in a region that becomes dry in winter and humid in summer, so minor adjustments are absolutely necessary during the transitory periods of climate. Either way, a little knowledge about this now empowers you to do one of the most important adjustments for your guitar. IMHO, once a neck goes bad, guitar becomes firewood - bolt one are exception to some extent. Reason being is most other things are easily rectified. Neck issues can be BIG issues. Regards!

Their expensive guitar cases cost less than this - which I could arguably fit more stuff into... I'm thinking that's the ticket. I'm actually mostly interested in that $180 wallet. Won't have money to put in it after I buy one, but I will have a wallet that costs $180.

Nice video. I’m glad I don’t sell and trade my stuff. I take my time to make sure I will like and actually want what I get. I don’t worry too much about the used market in terms of selling generally. I like it when there is something I’ve been after and the prices go down. Well, the guitars the guy in the video was talking about aren’t the kinds of guitars I go after so I have yet to see the market go down in price for what I look at. Gibsons usually hold value very well it seems.

I own 12 Gibson guitars currently - 6 or which come from the Custom Shop. I am vouching that this company that has gone bankrupt and done some questionable maneuvers has begun to lose its way - at least with me it has because… they are still around making ends meet apparently. There is absolutely nothing in recent years I have aspired to buy from this guitar company. Not saying they make crap, but these aren’t guitars. And the guitars they sell today have all had immense hikes that I can find other brands that sell same or better quality for considerably less. Well I will be able to before Gibson decides to sue them. Hopefully Mark will be directed to put out another threatening video beforehand. I own the following CS guitars: R7 Goldtop, R7 Black Beauty, 2 x R9s, 68 RI, and a “regular” Gibson Custom. Just wanted to add this because I have bought into this company and not badmouthing them by any means to be some kind of troll or whatever. I’ve spent some bucks with this company over the years. I like my guitars - I think they are great. I am just finding this company as of late continuing to head in directions that I don’t find palatable so to speak. They’ve always been a more expensive, higher end guitar place, but last few years they went bankrupt for questionable business ventures, had quality suffer immense hits, now they are some niche artsy guitar maker that charges tens of thousands for anything that comes out of their factories… and to boot, their guitars because of inflation and maybe just desired hikes have substantially gone up in price. I ask myself why do I want another Gibson fresh off the presses… YMMV, as always. Just sharing my perspective
