Mr. Natural, And George Fenniman, who became Groucho Marx's announcer on "You bet your life", an early television game show, had an uncredited role in the film as well. RBSinTo

Karloff, I suppose a case could be made that some science-fiction films such as "The Thing" (the original, which I've always considered to be an excellent movie) could also be considered to be "horror" films, but the slashing/hacking/goalie mask/zombie schtick is of no interest to me. RBSinTo

Guitar God, I have never understood the attraction of horror films. They obviously appeal to many people, but not to me, and I have no interest in any of them. RBSinTo

The Les Paul is a guitar that doesn't interest me, regardless of its colour. And to be fair to Gibson, no one makes a solid body electric that I'd ever consider. Hollow body ES-style guitars by various manufacturers are the only electrics that I would own. RBSinTo

If this guy really had good taste he wouldn't have wasted all that money buying a pile of Les Pauls. One ES335, and a nice selection of Martin acoustics. That's good taste. RBSinTo

My wife and I have come down with what is, in all likelihood Covid. So besides staying curled up in bed, I took the time this morning to cancel a physio. appointment for tomorrow, advise our Daughter-in-law that I can't take the girls to their music lessons tomorrow, and tell three people running summer hockey games that I can't play this week. I am not a happy camper. RBSinTo

Chief, I agree. Very few movie sequels are necessary. Most are made simply because some executives decide that they need newer Lear jets or larger mansions. RBSinTo

Are you simply idly curious, or are you planning on purchasing this guitar? This is important because you haven't mentioned how it plays or sounds, which to me, would be the most important considerations. RBSinTo

Need an opinion for the correct price of a J45
RBSinTo replied to Max_mtd's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Another place to try is ebay. Go to completed sales and look for j-45's with similar specs. to the one you're interested in. RBSinTo -
This is just a partial list. As I think about it, more pop into my mind. "The Victors" original "Manchurian Candidate" "To the ends of the earth" "A walk in the sun" "The miracle worker" original "The thing" "The day the earth stood still" original "King Kong" "The birds" "North by northwest" "Charade" "Year of the Dragon" "The race for the double helix" Probably more to come. Busted SJ200 case handle…any tips for replacement?
RBSinTo replied to Jinder's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Kwisky, I know what it is because I'm 74. But of course you don't, because you're too young. Maybe when you get to be my age, you'll know. RBSinTo -
Busted SJ200 case handle…any tips for replacement?
RBSinTo replied to Jinder's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Jinder, I love fixing things like that, the best part of the exercise being figuring out how to do it. I find it to be very theraputic. If I lived nearby, I'd do it for you just for the fun of it. Hope you have good luck getting it repaired. RBSinTo -
MissouriPicker, Thank you for the kind wishes. Being 74 is good except that I've really beaten the **** out of this body for a long time, and so I hurt much of the time. But being a run-down old guy is vastly better than the alternative. Luckily, because of sheer stubbornness, and Ibuprophen, I still manage to play competitive hockey, often with people fifty years younger. Think young! RBSinTo

merciful-evans, Thanks for the kind wishes. "RBS" are my initials, and the "inTo" is short for "in Toronto". Hope your wife has an easy time of it, and recovers quickly. RBSinTo

To pickguard or not to pickguard, that is the question
RBSinTo replied to egoidealmusic's topic in Gibson Acoustic
Em7, How do you know what this guitar does behind closed doors? Might be spending all its time living on the edge by hanging around with Martins or Taylors. RBSinTo -
To pickguard or not to pickguard, that is the question
RBSinTo replied to egoidealmusic's topic in Gibson Acoustic
There is a certain wonderful simplicity to spruce-topped guitars without pickguards, but if you are a hard strummer. So unless you aspire to have Trigger 2.0, I suggest you apply a guard. RBSinTo -
Big, big day today. Up at 5:45 am, and walked my daily 2-hour, 6-1/2 miles. Showered, and spent two hours customizing a used hockey helmet-goalie mask I received yesterday from ebay, and then welcomed my music bud. We schmoozed and played for a few hours until I left to get a haircut. At 11:15 pm, I'll be on the ice for my usual Friday night hockey game and try out my new mask for the first time. Oh. And tomorrow is my 74th birthday. RBSinTo

To pickguard or not to pickguard, that is the question
RBSinTo replied to egoidealmusic's topic in Gibson Acoustic
egoidealmusic, This guitar is a fine example of quiet, unassuming good taste. So in my opinion, a simple, teardrop-shaped pickguard would be my choice. RBSinTo -
fyp., Why would he want to? If told, just for the hell of it, to select an activity or significant function you perform in one of the handedness modes, and then take 18 months to re- learn how to do it in the opposite mode, would you do it? Neither would he. RBSinTo

SteveFord, Agreed. Even if they were giving them away. RBSinTo
