  1. When I retired I had 214 days of sick days on the books, (would have been more, but I used 10 days when I got Shingles). That's one full work year's worth! I suppose I could have faked an illness for another year and gotten paid my full salary the year...but I wouldn't do that. And, I've been retired almost 3 years....I'll get a fat paycheck for this year very soon, (as soon as the accountants reconcile the books). So my company did and still does treat me very well.
  2. Yes... I still get new episodes on Discovery Channel.... in Season 7 now, I believe.
  3. I'm not a fan of any cutaway on an acoustic... I rarely get that high up on the neck anyway, (@cowboychords).
  4. Thanks for the info. I think years ago when I played some J-200's I was used to playing my old Jubilee, (not a dread). I certainly am not looking to buy one.... I'd end up sleeping in the garage if I brought another guitar home!
  5. Thanks...surprising they don't mention whether the body is thinner or not. So the woods vary.....flatter fretboard.....still a stunning guitar, (was odd to see it sitting out where anyone could just pick it up and play it!). I was just wondering anyway.
  6. My yard is relatively large also, (especially in the SF Bay Area). I have a couple of guys who come twice a month also....but I have no lawn to mow or edge, (phony lawn). They pull weeds and trim bushes and (of course) "blow" the debris to the other side of the street.
  7. The J-200 Studio I played seemed to be pretty plain....although it was still beautiful, and sounded great, (although not quite in tune). I've played J-200's before (a LONG time ago), and this one seemed comfortable....I wasn't sure if I changed or the guitar was slightly different. I thought maybe because I've been playing mostly square-shouldered Dreads for the last many years, I'd grown comfortable to larger guitars....just not sure. But, I think you're right about it being slightly thinner....I need to look it up.
  8. Weather shows it's supposed to rain here (NORCAL) all day & night today and all day & night tomorrow.....grocery shopping today, (normally on Monday, but I had a dentist appointment yesterday). Other than that....Indoor stuff only...will probably record "Layla" (Acoustic) tomorrow.
  9. You might well be right.... and maybe that's why it felt comfortable when the J-200 seemed too big for me. I noticed it didn't have all the 'bling' a J-200 has...but wasn't sure about the specs....I thought it sounded pretty good, (considering all the background noise at the R&RHOF).
  10. I know I can look up the specs...but I was hoping someone in here would know off the top of their head.... what are the differences between a J-200 and a J-200 Studio? I always felt the J-200 was too big for me, but when I played a J-200 at The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, I found I really liked it...and my son took video and I didn't look like Little Jimmy Dickens playing it. Are the woods the same? bracing? Thanks

  12. The engineering that goes into those things is awesome! The strategies are very enjoyable..... I recall a few seasons ago one bot had a drone that spit fire at the opponent....and the opponent bought a garden rake....and when the drone flew over it's head, it knocked it down with the garden rake! Crazy stuff!
  13. Murph.... I only know it happened..... ksdaddy knows HOW it happened!
  14. When I was working we had a staff of about 140 engineers, (automotive).... I considered getting a few of them together to see if we couldn't build a decent robot..... but they're so busy designing all electric buses, and now Hydrogen Fuel Cell buses, (mandates for all buses to be Zero Emissions very soon), so those q40 engineers are working 12-14 hour days....we even hired a company in India to do some of the 'grunt work' to free up engineers to do the heavy lifting here. I just watch the entire 2021 Season Battles....just finished up last night...... It's like MMA.....but no body gets hurt.
  15. I'm wondering if that's what happened to Gary..... I have another friend who has the exact same mower as Gary did.....She lives right on the Rogue River, (it actually runs THROUGH her yard)....I'm going to warn her.....thanks.
  16. Oh.... I thought it'd be in Nashville..... Thanks.... if I come back, it'll be in the motor home. Had a trip planned, but our travel partners both got sick (and old).
  17. I hope to get back there to visit Nashville.
  18. You're probably safe.... he lived in SOCAL but he had just sold his house there and moved to Sparta, Tennessee....bought the mower for his new place..... he only lived there for a few months!
  19. He's lived a pretty full life.....even married to his school boy celebrity crush!
  20. I didn't know that....I do know he was close friends with Johnny....does the signature model have the bullet hole in it? (Now we're getting into the "Red Violin" territory!
  21. Ah, Gene Clark! You know, to make a full circle, Marty Stuart plays Clearance White's Tele now!
  22. I had a friend who drove his zero turn off a cliff..... the fire/police finally got him up, but he passed away from his injuries.....BE CAREFUL on those things...especially if you have a cliff in your yard!
  23. Now you're in my neck of the woods! First off....funny you can't even type "DlCK" Clark, (I know...I once tried to refer to "DlCK" Dale). Second, I worked with Paul Revere & The Raiders, and We Five..... would LOVED to have worked with Bo Diddley, but never did.
  24. Beautiful day in NorCal today....supposed to rain tomorrow. I'll do a little work outside today, (relocate a timer for some accent lights on the deck and run a bead of sealer between the walkway and garage wall to keep water out of the garage). That's the plan anyway!
