  1. I can see the volute so it's a 70's era Norlin. Possibly a LP Jr hence the wrap around bridge , guessing. I wouldn't be interested so I'd move along
  2. @MFeldu waste of $250 if you ask me. Nobody asks hey where's that certificate letter, . But then again people are paying close to double for a Murphy aged guitar when they can scratch dent ding a guitar for free. So shows you what I know
  3. Strange Marshall is written in the correct direction but the camera inverted the guitar in the picture
  4. I said that the other day, someone is claiming fakes are using acorn nuts on trussrod. I can't confirm that
  5. Not sure how many of the average LP players have Bigsby attached to their Les Paul's to be fair
  6. Are you talking about the sitka spruce wood grains under the black finish??
  7. Where's Ed Roman's rant on Gibson headstock breakage.. Oh yeah Ed Roman died
  8. But this one is that special 9/1000inch extra wide nut at 1.698 wide and that rare only 3 in that color with a serial number on my birthday
  9. It's got a Les Paul shape, but I need just a little more time to fully analyze your request
  10. This is the 2nd thread someone looking for a particular nut width. Not that I'm "diss'ing" you. But way I look at it: you have to learn on a variety of guitars with different nut/neck/scales. That way if you're some place and you get the "oh you play guitar, here grab this guitar and play us something " You don't answer "um no man, I can't play that guitar, it's not set up for me" Don't think any of the greats would turn down a jam/gig
  11. In Ontario Canada our gas price just went to $2.10_9 per liter (times that by 3.67 to get US gallon) The company that makes custom size boxes for my company can't deliver for more than 8wks (used to be 5 day delivery) citing pandemic slow down . That's just one portion that contributes to what prices are. Yes , prices are going up every few months
  12. Who's Lizzy Hale? Guess that's what shows of my knowledge on the "artist" version (Yes I saw the Gibson email on it)
  13. "shroud" cases are far and few between.. cases without are a "dime a dozen" don't like it.. park it in storage/sell it and buy yourself one that doesn't have one. people search for shroud cases.
  14. I don't know, what's tone and volume controls on guitars if you can't use them My "Bonamassa " approach, volumes at 6 Lead tone 6 Rhythm tone 4-5 Adjust amp for volume and tone.
  15. An es335 is a semi hollow it has a trapeze tail. So many es335 do not have "traditional " stop tails as Les Paul do.
  16. @Tomi G.P. never can You have to post the img link from a free image site like imgur.com
  17. Maybe the HP version has a different neck joint than a standard. I believe the HP LP has a smooth rounded neck heal. Maybe that makes it more prone to flex. I've seen lots of people's pictures over the years on the forum, can't say I've seen a "common" thing about neck heal cracks. Email Greg Voros at Gruhn's guitar, if there is an opinion on repair I trust , its his
  18. I don't think I would have even noticed that slight waver in the binding. Obviously you did .
  19. I sent an email to guitar.com They said they were going to check with Gibson. Guess were back online
  20. Did you see this article from GC (Would Guitar Center like??) https://www.guitarcenter.com/riffs/buying-guides/accessories/ultimate-guide-to-gibson-pickups 61R and 61T In the early ’60s, Gibson began incorporating stronger Alnico V magnets on its humbuckers. The 61R/T set uses these for great effect. They have added power, top end and bite.
  21. I don't normally have my hand where a wall hanger would have contacted the neck, Doubtful you'll feel it when playing it Don't worry about it
  22. @Froggy55 how long did you leave the tuner on for? I clip it on tune it up toss the tuner aside. Don't leave it on ,
  23. @AndyC66 this probably should be in it's own thread Are you sure you mean bridge and slot too wide? With thicker strings; nut needs to wider to move freely. Bridge only needs a slot so it doesn't move. If the nut is cut too low then the string will buzz open on first couple of frets only. Bridge won't. But you can always raise the bridge with thumb wheels if you absolutely feel it's the bridge
