  1. So I went ahead and got the Morley. I tested through my amp at work (yeah I have a cool job like that) and it worked and sounded great. The Echo effect isn't awesome, but I rarely use that anyway. I brought it to the acoustic gig last night and ran it directly into the PA. It performed great and my partner loved it. So I think it's a keeper. I'll probably keep my Vox Copperhead overdrive pedal, but get rid of my wah wahs, chorus and MojoMojo drive. There is a way to run the wah and OD into the front of the amp and put the Chorus and Echo through the effects loop. I may eventually see if that is worth the extra hassle, but for now I will just put my tuner and maybe Dyna Comp in front and then just put the Morley to the Input of the amp.
  2. Another thing from the gig above, which really has nothing to do with anything other than I found it interesting. The sax/guitar/percussion player in the band has his own business importing and selling shoes to retailers. He travels extensively and meets many interesting people. He had a friend come to the gig who is originally from Australia and owns a company that makes wool shoes called Woolloomooloo or something like that. Real nice guy. His mother-in-law is the widow of Buddy Holly. Again, it means nothing but kinda cool to meet the guy who's wife's mother was married to Buddy Holly and mentioned in the song Miss American Pie.
  3. Played with the full band tonight. Playing tomorrow, Cinco de Mayo, with the acoustic duo. Tonight was the first of the season at Mountain Branch Golf Club. We play one Thursday every month there from May-October. It's always great there, as we have a big stage to spread out and there's plenty of room for the dancers. Always a great crowd with lots of regulars who come out to see us. Set was about same as last one from above, but added a few "new" songs: Let It Roll - Little Feat. Everybody Wants To Rule The World and The Fire Down Below. They all came out great. I may have been my last gig using this pedal board. I pulled the trigger on a Morley Multi FX pedal which arrived at my house today from Sweetwater. But I went straight from work to gig and didn't get to try it tonight. I'm gonna run it straight to PA at gig tomorrow night. Tonight's pedal setup
  4. I'm not a drummer, so can't give an opinion. The main complaint I've heard from my drummer friends regarding electronic drums is that the sticks don't bounce off like they do on "real" drums.
  5. I figured someone else would have already posted this but guess not. I remember as a kid, hearing The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on the radio and being mesmerized by that song. He was a great songwriter to say the least. RIP Gordon.
  6. A few weeks ago my buddies and I had a group text going and we started some thing where we all would record ourself singing/playing a song and share on the text. I wanted to surprise them with something unexpected, so I grabbed my guitar unplugged and did a verse of Year Of The Cat. They weren't as impressed with it as I was impressed with myself.
  7. I've never had Cristal, so I can't comment on cost. But I can complain that I used to get Eagle Rare for about $33-$40, not it's over $100 just because some hipsters decided that it was trendy a few years ago and it flies off shelves as soon as it comes in.
  8. Sorry to hear of your loss. I've lost some band mates too and know how it feels. Even if it's on a small-time level, there's a certain bond with people you make music with, have jams and play late night gigs with. Their absence is felt. But their memory lives on every time you play. Condolences.
  9. Yeah. Not as many big, recognizable names this year as in past, but the music is always great and we have a blast. 4 days of freedom and camping and music. Trampled By Turtles and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are two other mentionables.
  10. I getting in the mood for my annual trip to Delfest, which will include Molly Tuttle among many others.
  11. Today I will be at Camden Yards watching the Orioles play the Yankees.
  12. Very nice. Everything about that guitar is interesting. In a good way.
  13. My amp has spring reverb. I rarely even use Delay, but it's nice to have the option for a little echo.
  14. I think I found what I want. I just have to save up some gig money or something before I spend a other $500 on a new toy. But this has everything I need and nothing I don't. Plus it's analog, no menus or parameters.
  15. It's 8:50am here and I literally just got in from a gig last night. I worked yesterday and was just about to leave when my buddy Steve texted me asking if I wanted to play that night in Kent Island. The Island Pub had a cancelation and they called us. I said let me check with my boss (wife). She was cool with it but was concerned about me going over the Bay Bridge, as there was severe wind warnings. I said "it'll be fine". Famous last words! I went home and changed clothes, grabbed my KokoCaster and headed out. The drive over the bridge wasn't bad. The gig went good. Nothing too interesting to mention, other than as we were playing the 1st set and watching Os game on the TV. Os were winning 8 to 7 with 2 outs in the 9th inning and the last Boston batter hit a pop fly to Left Field. The whole bar cheered as they expected an Orioles win and a 2 and 0 record start of the season. But the cheer quickly turned to a groan as the Left Fielder dropped an easy fly ball. The very next batter smashed a two run homer for a walk-off Red Sox win! That sucked the air out of the room for awhile, but life goes on and we cheered them back up as the night went on. Plus there was March Madness games also on to distract from the Os loss. But, as I went to leave at the end of the night, I checked my phone and saw that they closed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge due to wind. I was stuck! I went back to Steve's house for the night. He lives only 5 minutes away from the bar. At least now I could have a few drinks without worrying about driving home. And now, once again my wife can rub it in my face that she was right.
  16. Jeez. I've seen him in your pics over the years. Sorry to hear about that.
  17. Very nice. Guy in my band has one of those bigger, silver colored Supro amps. Sounds great. I carried it out to his car last night, and it's light as hell too.
  18. Well. I didn't mean to imply I hadn't played a gig in 6 months. Just haven't posted in this thread, I did use my PRS amp for the first time in over a year after getting it repaired. Man that was nice to be playing through a real tube amp again. I think it sounded even better than before.
  19. It's been almost 6 months since I've done this. Played a St Patrick's Day (night) gig. I was worried, since we started at 8PM, that most people would be partied out by that time. But it was a great crowd and we kept about half of them around for the third set.
  20. Wow. That's actually beautiful. I normally don't agree with the idea of leaving good guitars home, but I'd probably be afraid to take that to a gig.
