  1. That looks like a lot of work plus a lot of tooling required.
  2. I don't think the original is targeted as a remake of one of a '30's model. Most of the remakes will have features of the '30's such as V-neck shape, a little longer scale length, fabric stays inside the body, wider nut, and wider string spacing at the bridge. The only thing old looking I see on this model is the tuners and logo which I like. I think the Legend was modeled after Lee Roy Parnell's 1397 L00 I have the 1932 L00 Reissue. I've never read where it was modeled after someone's guitar. You have a nice looking guitar. It's up to you to make it a classic and have them make reissues of it 50 years from now. Enjoy!
  3. My issue was with a Nick Lucas 12 fret Mystic Rosewood. I first bought one from MF. When I received it the bridge plate was chewed up from being out of position and being drilled on the edge. I returned it. I then saw one at CME. I explained my problem I had and asked them to double check the one they had for that issue. They got back to me, assured me it was okay, and I bought it. It had the same issue. Then the salesman ( George Coutretsis, currently with Vintage SS) got involved and asked me if I wanted to return it or try to get it repaired at Gibson. I chose the latter, and they really took charge. It had the plate replaced and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm glad I worked with them.
  4. But why did they send that one to you in the first place? I had a similar issue with CME. They made good on it, but why was it shipped to me in the first place?
  5. Depends if you’ve been a good boy this past year.
  6. Hello neighbor! I'm about 90 miles north in Erlanger
  7. You may want to take it to a luthier. Unfortunately, these are not very valuable and if the truss rod is broke, the expense to fix it may not be worth it unless it has sentimental value. Often, it's just a stripped truss rod nut. These are made of brass and are supposed to strip before damaging the rad. It can be replaced for a couple bucks but be sure to clean off the threads on the rod. If the thread on the rod is stripped, it can sometimes be cleaned up and then put on a new nut. If the thread on the rod is stripped, it's usually at the washer area only. You can try getting a new nut and ten add a couple washers to get the nut back on the good part of the threads. Sometimes after years of stress, the opposite end will dig into the wood and move the rod further out the hole and then the rod does not have enough thread. Then someone thinks they're adjusting the nut but they're bottoming out and stripping one or the other. You should never use a lot of force when adjusting. Hope the best for you. I would look at the nut and threads on the rod first. Truss Rod Nuts for Gibson® - 6 Pack - StewMac If it's twisted off at the end and there's enough rod left, there is a repair.
  8. Sometimes it's what the guitar has been subjected to since it left the factory such as setting in an uncontrolled warehouse for a while.

  11. I doubt if any of us can sway Sal. He will find something. Sal's had a lot of nice instruments. I'm trying to learn to let them go like him when I'm ready to try something else but haven't mastered it yet.

  17. I'm guessing you're not looking for a Gibson F5. I remember you having a mandolin a few years back. I cannot speak on this one but was really impressed with the Cosey guitar I bought from them a few years ago. It was a carved top and back and all the workmanship was top notch. I did not care for the hardware and swapped it out. I looked on their site and saw this. Looks good to me and if you sign up you'll get an extra 10% off. I'm half tempted to get one. Would fit you well playing out with the pickup. Coupert will get you 15% off. Eastwood MRG Mandolin - Electric Mandolin – Eastwood Guitars
  18. Price seems okay if it were in better shape. I recently bought a 2018 for $1100 USD. It was mint. It had the pups swapped out, but the originals were included.
  19. I guess everyone has a gentle side
  20. I've had the operation on the middle finger on both hands. I could use the hand immediately after the stiches healed, but it took about 5 months for full recovery. This is a good time of the year for the operation. Best of luck.
