  1. Phil, so sorry for the loss of your wife. Wow. You've had some rough times over the last few years with the fire, rebuilding and now her passing. I'm so sorry for you. My condolences to you and yours. Would it be alright to call you. I believe I still have your number. You still in the Agoura Hills area? That's a beautiful guitar. Instrumental music. I was in there two or three months ago. Playing the Martin D-35 Johnny Cash they had there. I watched that video. You look good Phil. Todd
  2. Just found this online. We're thrilled to share some exciting music news bound to stir the souls of rock and blues aficionados alike. Guitar legend Slash is set to release his sixth solo album, “Orgy of the Damned,” on May 17, under the banner of Gibson Records. A great cover takes something old and makes it new again. This is the philosophy behind Slash’s new album, Orgy of the Damned, a collection of 12 dynamic songs that shakes up and revitalizes blues classics with a stripped down, instinctive approach. Working in a similar way to his 2010 self-titled solo LP Slash, which featured multiple guest vocalists, the acclaimed guitarist teamed up with numerous musicians and singers to create a singular expression that pays homage to the blues. By celebrating both well-known and largely undiscovered songs, Slash offers a nostalgic nod to the past while reinvigorating the songs with his inimitable guitar playing and the spirit of collaboration. Side A: The Pusher- feat. Chris Robinson Crossroads – feat. Gary Clark Jr. Hoochie Coochie Man – feat. Billy F. Gibbons Side B: Oh Well – feat. Chris Stapleton Key To The Highway – feat. Dorothy Awful Dream- feat. Iggy Pop Side 😄 Born Under A Bad Sign – feat. Paul Rodgers Papa Was A Rolling Stone – feat. Demi Lovato Killing Floor – feat. Brian Johnson Side 😧 Living for the City – feat. Tash Neal Stormy Monday – feat. Beth Hart Metal Chestnut May 17. Just in time for my birthday.🤗 x
  3. "HBE Germania," are good pedals. I've tried them. I love my HBE Ultimate Fuzz Octave (UFO), the Psilosybe (Phaser) and even use their Bytchen Swytchen (#100). I wish Joel Weaver was still building pedals. I've never had an issue with my HBE UFO or Psilosybe. Great stuff and if you can find it, it's worth it. As far as stacking overdrive pedals, that was quite a fun day. I was nailing some crazy gain settings with those two that day. I specifically remember playing "Mob Rules" by Sabbath and thinking "Wow! This is cool as.... well you know, hell".
  4. I had the opportunity to see Slash in Los Angeles back in 2018. Talk about the guitars that man brought to the show. I must have over a hundred photographs of him playing a different guitar for every song on the set list. I kind of dug the Gold Explorer he played that night and his newest signature at the time, the cherry red 4 guitar.
  5. Wow... Awesome job Duane. Seems like you had your work cutout for you during this project. But the end result..... Looking good.
  6. Oh that's a great looking guitar! I hope it sounds as good as it looks. Cause that's one good looking guitar. You scored.
  7. Well that was a bust. I lost every item I bid on. The final nail in the coffin was the Keeley Oxblood. The winner out bid me at $170.00 and again $200.00. They can have it for that.
  8. I just wanted to say that a lot of things are starting to suck; except my vacuum cleaner. It's in the shop.
  9. We do try to please the masses.
  10. I can't resist it. Here's mine.
  11. These things always turn out where everyone posts their telecasters. Let me be the first to say, "All I got is a red guitar, three chords, and the truth," Bono. Love the red telecasters. Love telecasters period. Can never have enough telecasters. Hence, everybody posting theirs. Not that that has happened yet. Again, beautiful.
  12. It Might Get Loud, is a good documentary. I remember when BlockBuster was closing and I happened to wonder in there one afternoon. They had two copies for a buck a piece so I bought them. Kept one, gave the other to my friend. I like it because three relatively good guitarists, Jack White, The Edge, and Jimmy Page were all involved in the making of it. Great documentary in my humble opinion.
  13. And fire will rain down from the sky!!! We're all doomed!
  14. I have a Mexican telecaster from early 2000 and the paint is beginning to chip off all over the edges. Looks cool and relic-ed. It's now officially known as, you guessed it, "Chip".
  15. So my Fulltone CS FD3-Anniversary seems to be in the same genre that you are all talking about. There is a distinctive overdrive circuit with two different voices and the independent boost side. I could be good and won't have to pony up the money this guys asking for.
  16. Duane, sorry for your loss. Mom passed in 2020 and there isn't a day that I don't cherish her memory. Pictures with the grand kids are always the ones that tug on my heart. It's good to see you back in the lounge.
  17. Honest relic-ing. I like that.
  18. I believe this post deserves a little more class, right?
  19. Please tell us about the Analogman King of Tone. I think I have a line on one. The guy wants $700.00 and I'm thinking it might be a great addition to my choices for ODs. What do you like about it?
  20. I kind of like that red chicken head knob.
  21. My BB King has been authenticated by Gibson. They even pointed out that my neck is ebony and not the richlite material that would soon be used by the company.
  22. SO.... has anybody won anything from this auction yet? I saw the Korg Miku's are all gone. Two sole for $500.00 and one, in the box mind you, sold for $600.00.
  23. Notice my guitar does not indicate Gibson on the headstock? Crazy, I know, but it is a Gibson Custom Shop BB King. Some of these were even signed by BB. If you find one of those, expect to pay a hefty price for it.
  24. I posted about my visit to the NAMM Show this year. Brad Jackson and Mike Fuller were gracious hosts. Not sure if you're familiar with Brad's story, but I watched it on youtube and was blown away how the music industry can turn on the head of a pin. Jackson was building some world class amplifiers and then suddenly he had to start building pedals. His pedals are every bit as good as his amplifiers. If you get a chance to try them out do so. You might end up with a few on your board. Fulltone's offerings as of the NAMM Show. New, on top of the power supply, is a stereo chorus/flanger that they will be releasing soon. It sounded great and I had no problems with it.
