daveinspain
Very nice.... great retro feel.... What year are those guitas and amps?
Californiaman
The Fender Amp is from the Corona Custom Shop and made in '02. The Gibson Amp was made in '06. I am reasonably sure that the Gibson ES-175 was made in 1988. The Fender Diamond Anniversary was made in '06 at the Custom Shop.

Tim Plains
Sweet. What's the purpose of that metal thing over the Tele's bridge pickup?
Thundergod
Man oh man, nice pics... #1 and #3 look like catalog pics... maybe you should send them to gibson and fender. Good looking guitars, I imagine they sound as good as they look (specially that Tele!)
Californiaman
Thank you Thunder. Don't you have a 60th Anniversary Tele.
RichCI
Sweet. What's the purpose of that metal thing over the Tele's bridge pickup? The cover is often referred to as an ashtray. It was meant to be cosmetic to cover the bridge and bridge pickup but nobody actually puts it on (it just loosely snaps into place) as it just gets in the way. Thundergod
Yep, but not that one hehehe yours looks like its got natural finish, and the classic bridge. Teles!
Cruznolfart
Beautiful axes, Californiaman, and *****in' amps. Thanks for the great porn.
Californiaman
Yep' date=' but not that one hehehe yours looks like its got natural finish, and the classic bridge. Teles! [/quote'] Yeah, but the bridge is a little hotter than the original. There's only three tones with the selector switch. Original Neck (bass), Neck, and Bridge. Playing with the bass selector on with the treble cranked to 12 is a deep blues sound. It's certainly a natural finish. Two pieces of Swamp Ash. Thanks for the comments about the photos, too. Californiaman
Hey thanks guirtarest. My 175 is not a semi-hollow body guitar by any means. She's a full blown hollow body arch-top. When the amp and volume controls are just right, that black cat moans with usable feedback. Not right and it's awful.
Homz
Beautiful stuff there man. I know I'm showing my ignorance (wouldn't be the first time) , but that metal plate over the bridge and back pick up, is that something that you can put on or take off easily? Like a pick guard on a LP?
zippy
Nice C-man.....I'd give a kidney for that

It basically fits right over the three sides of the bridge (yes I know there is four sides) because the front side is open. It's totally useless, but it does look good for pictures. And if you smoke, well hell... I guess you can use it for a real ashtray.
surfpup
Some Strats had a (smaller) version of the ashtray cover too, right? Seems to me like they usually got lost because everyone took them off.
Californiaman
I've never seen one on a Stratocaster. I usually leave mine off except when I want to show it off. Heee hee he.
Californiaman
Here's a couple of sound links for the amp on youtube. It gives you a general idea what it's capable of. and there's this one too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqX4ZxEO1Y4
