flatbaroque
Gday folks.Haven't been doing much guitarring lately or forum browsing .So it's 3 chord baby steps. One from up and coming American folk singer Bob Dylan. From the Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid soundtrack. Buggered a few lyrics.Apologies to anyone from the Rio Pecos valley..which i sang as Rico Porkos. Must have been thinking about the bacon and eggs I was going to have for breakfast. I do like a good outlaw song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x2y6tmsHfc
QuestionMark
Great job on a Dylan song I hadn't heard in quite awhile. Guitar looks/sounds good and your cover of the song sounds authentic Dylan. Good stuff. QM aka Jazzman Jeff

Buc McMaster
Nicely done, sir! Singing and strumming with abandon! I envy your harp skills........I just can't seem to do much with 'em. And the "Rico Pokos" faux pax was excellent!
E-minor7
An unconditional hep for choosing this oldie. It's a fun song to play and not least sing - calls for a certain howl and you heed it. The simple chords and basic melody makes one cut the words in wooden blocks and put them on top of each other, , , then kind of blow them down again. And after that you feel like free and cleaner man.

E-minor7
Great delivery of a song I'd not heard before ... nice! It lies in 3-4 shorter or longer versions on the film-score record FB mentions - Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid. What surprised me was that it premiered in 1973 - I had it as early as 70. Must say it's among the main-wave BD albums I only borrowed, never bought. https://en.wikipedia..._the_Kid_(album) https://en.wikipedia...d_Billy_the_Kid
MissouriPicker
Good job, FB. I remember the movie, but was never a big follower of the music once I left the theater. Thanks for the memories and the "real" music.

flatbaroque
Thanks everyone for commenting.Especially as I haven't been around reciprocating lately. I'd forgotten about this song but was on a road trip last weekend and had a USB full of hundreds of songs on random and it came up.I do have the album but never play it.The album as a whole is a bit underwhelming - but this song is a good one. I particularly enjoyed Em7's critique. It's a fun song to play and not least sing - calls for a certain howl and you heed it. The simple chords and basic melody makes one cut the words in wooden blocks and put them on top of each other, , , then kind of blow them down again. And after that you feel like free and cleaner man. besides being poetic it describes the song structure perfectly. Each verse has 3 strong rhyming lines (the build up) - then the blow down of the last non rhyming line.
