merciful-evans
In my opinion: The SDs. That said, that I hate the sound of them.

Sgt. Pepper
When I played eclectics I tried Duncan's and never liked them. I think RCT is a fan of them. Lindy Fralin, now that is a nice pup winder. Lollar too, but 'spensive as all get out. Edited March 6, 2020 by Sgt. Pepper
Big Bill
I like Duncan's, I have a set in my Lester. I just don't care for the Pearly Gates.
FemmeParallell
my SG R61 has both a 57 in the neck, and a pearly gates in the bridge, and definitely the PG is more brighter love both
rct
I have Seymours in all of my guitars(On Reverb, Pilgrims Projects, Hastings MI, hello John!), stacked singles and I use Jazz and JB in my goldtop tele. I'm not a fan of Pearly Gates either. They sure wouldn't work in one of my guitars, I use too much gain for them, they would get scritchy and brittle on me. rct Edited March 7, 2020 by rct

How would you rate SSL-1s for trad Strat replacement? I'm not looking to buy; just curious.

Pretty low output like the old ones, which I prefer in a pickup. rct
