IanHenry
Sorry to have to tell you this Bic, but have you noticed that the neck has been put on the wrong way around😀
SteveFord
I use 11s on all of my electrics. You'll need to run a file through the slots in the nut to open them up a little and give the truss rod a tweak.
jdgm
Very nice, congrats. DR pure blues, think they are 11 to 48. A little more expensive than D'addario but the best strings I've ever used on my LP. 🎸
Buc McMaster
Yes, I have a couple sets of the Pure Blues 11's ordered already............use DRs on my acoustics, figured the electric sets will be as good. The nut and t-rod may or may not require a tweak with the slightly heavier strings. I've found that differs from one guitar to another. Haven't weighed it but this is one h-e-a-v-y instrument............ With guard or without? hotshot
I personally like pic guards. From your pic I see that it had one on it. The thing that bothers me the most is the holes that are left behind. LOL
kidblast
Buc gets a Les Paul! !!holy smokes!! what's next ? a Marshall JVM head and half stack? (btw, the correct answer is YES!)
jdgm
I think Buc would be be a Fender amp guy....classic cleans, bit of reverb, the occasional tasteful trem..... ...like me! 🎸 Edited December 18, 2021 by jdgm
Buc McMaster
I used to play old Fender tweed amps from the 50s but I've got my eye on the Marshall 1974X combo. Two knobs: volume & tone, plus a tremolo in one channel.......perfect! Don't use pedals at all (save a tuner) and like an amp that responds well to what the guitar and guitarist is giving it. The old tweed amps did that very well with Strats and Teles, but I think the little Marshall combo will be a better fit with a humbucker-powered LP. gmac
I really don't like the look of the pick guard on the Les Paul. It appears like it was an afterthought to the design. I left it off mine.

I had a 60 watt Fender Deville. Couldn’t turn it up past 3. It was like a Motörhead concert any louder. Edited December 18, 2021 by Sgt.
