gearbasher
I ordered water filters for my LG refrigerator. When I installed one, it was very difficult to get in. Did an online search and contacted LG. I got counterfeits. I just hope I didn't damage the fridge. Man, you can't buy anything without worrying about getting bogus merchandise. fortyearspickn
Jeeesh. We have an LG reefer. Never suspected the water filters being bogus. I get ours at Lowes. Where did you buy the counterfeits? Do they 'work' ? I just read some fake ones are filled with newspaper. I guess I'm living in an alternate universe where the FDA, FBI or some Federal Agency screened things like this coming into the country and put an end to them. I don't care if someone knowingly buys a fake Gucci bag or Rolex - but not something contaminating instead of purifying the water we drink.

DanvillRob
We have two Kitchen Aid Refrigerators.....I went to Kitchen Aid and bought a half dozen of each filter for them.... they'll last the rest of my life, (if the refrigerators last that long). I got mine online from Walmart (through a third party seller). I'm sending them back. Funny thing is that I think the one I was replacing was also bogus. RBSinTo
In answer to the title of this thread: No, there isn't anything that won't be counterfeitted, if there is money to be made fraudulently. But this is nothing new, just more prevalent today. RBSinTo
