LP Standard...Gingerburst or Cranberry?

Hey all, I am really tempted by the MF special on LP Standard 60's neck for $1799.99, but the only two colors offered are the gingerburst or cranberry. I am on the fence, does anybody have any pictures of these two finishes other than what is on the website? Appreciate it, seems like a *really* good deal to me.......

I spent a little time a couple of weeks ago looking around the internet for larger/better pictures of these two lesters without any luck. The MF pics looked pretty good to me, but for $1800 for a Standard it's hard to go wrong. If the Standard, 60s neck is what you want you should go with it. Check out the return policy at MF. If the shade is not what you expect, send it back, no harm no foul.

PS I personally liked the Gingerburst, but it's your axe.

Sorry' date=' no additional pics. Looking at the ones on MF, I personally like the gingerburst better...but I don't like the name. A red-headed step-child comes to mind ](*,) [/quote']

Ginger Burst.............................sounds more like a Porn Star to me!

I would agree though, of those choices I would also prefer this one. It sounds like maybe they are trying to get rid of some new old-stock?

Is this another April fools joke? The price today is 1999. Did I miss something.

No siree. That price is in the little flyer they send out with orders. It's not on the web or the regular catalog, phone order only. Out of the same flyer, I just picked up an Epiphone LP 1956 Reissue with p90's in Ebony for $299.99.......

i just called them. that price was only for customers who had their orders screwed up' date=' lost, delivered late, etc. They wouldn't give that price to me#-o

and here i thought i was getting a new Les Paul.[/quote']

Bologna, none of that happened to me. Tell them you have flyer source code 803T. I am probably going to get the porn star gingerburst myself.......

Did any of you get your new LPs from Musicians Friend? Do you like the Gingerburst? Anyone opt for the Cranberry? I think I'd like the Cranberry, but I'd be afraid it would look more like trans red, than the nice deep brownish color in the photos. Also, what is the case like that came with it.

Thanks for the lead. I'm looking forward to having a nice Standard in the studio.

What is your impression of the Epi LP '56? I just might grab one of those for my son at the same time I order my Standard.

Hey all,

New member here, I found this thread while researching the gingerburst LP.

I got the MF catalog today and used the promo code to get the $1799.99 price, too good to pass up.

After reading FennRX's post I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get a dog too.

Any of you other guys get yours yet? Any problems?

I'll post when mine arrives, should be mid-week.

peace,

jmc

The UPS guy came yesterday with my new Ginger from Musicians Friend. All I can say is WOW. The finish and the fretwork are great. This is my first Gibson Les Paul after 25 years of playing. I didn't get the 1799 price but I did have a 20% off coupon for the 1999 price. You do the math.

Couldn't pass it up. No sticky neck, no over-spray, perfect frets. One really sweet guitar.
