Two of my favorite women in recent history are Maggie Thatcher, and Julia Child. They both broke boundaries in normally men's areas. Both strong and smart, but still women. I think sometimes women get caught up in feminism and forget to still be "a woman".

In teaching the guitar I am always keen to encourage all different types of people, from different back grounds to pursue their passion for music. Statistically (for me) it is sadly a male dominated instrument. Out of 80 pupils I only have 4 ladies (9 years old to 46). It has always been like that too...

In 2008 my wife and I put up ex Randy Rhoads pupil Janet Robin. She gave a masterclass, at the main school I teach guitar at and quite a few young tongue tied boys more or less said they always viewed women as singer/song writers; re their guitar skills. They were quite taken back seeing a woman who could kick their asses on the guitar :-({|=

On the instrument lists woodwind, Piano and singing are always woman dominated.

As a woman I have to say I'm not a feminist.

We are not equal to men, in MY opinion (feel free to disagree but don't bash me for this).

I'd rather see a man roofing a house than getting a manicure, call me old fashioned.

If a girl can handle playing football with the guys more power to her, but I appreciate it when my boyfriend takes the heavier grocery bags.

As for taking over...consider the following:

When the economy goes bad women will do what men do AND won't do for LESS PAY, which is why men get fired first. For instance, we will do the secretarial work at an office in addition to other duties even if we have a PhD.

Another example?

In my city I can't go to a titty bar unless a MAN is with me. That really bothers me. I love boobies and I want a lap dance, and I DO NOT want my boyfriend there! >.<

Taking over?!?!?! Please. "For 2000 years we’ve had their children, washed their clothes, cooked their meals and cleaned their houses. And what did they give us in return? The right to smoke in public. We sold out for a cigarette - and you don’t even smoke!" add to this the fact that we're expected to contribute financially...no, I'm not taking anything over. If anything my mommy had it best. Trophy wife at the country club sipping margaritas ordering the maid around. Take my right to vote, I'd rather be in her possition.

The only thing women have over men, far as I can see, is indesputable maternity (Jr sure looks like the gardner!) and the near obsesive love of our kids.

Why can't you go by yourself? Is it an ordinance?

You know, I wish I could say I looked into it, but I only KNOW its true because it is in the paper advertisements and on the web sites.

The adds say, "couples welcomed" and in LARGE PRINT, "NO UNESCORTED FEMALES". I live in Houston, the third largest city in the US, I am not in some backwoods little town *cough

I just realized what a conformist I am. Right away Yoda asked "why," while I resigned myself.

To be fair, though...I dated a dancer that said she liked the rule.

Maybe strippers don't want competition from female patrons, or it could be a safety issue as well.

There is a steak house in town that has a men's lounge area (no girls) as well...they smoke cigars there.

One gay bar here has a NO GIRLS patio section.

I tried to sneak in and they are DEAD serious NO girls.

• The New Hampshire State Legislature is now made up of a majority of women, a first for a legislative body in the U.S., and the number of women in government continues to edge up nationwide.

Just wait until they sync up. 100 women pmsing at the same time.. Hoo boy! NH will probably have to secede to Vermont.

Yeah... I'm going to hell for that one. [biggrin]
