Copying is easier than setting the guitar world on its head. That being said, EVH is a trained multi-instrumental musician, Vai is a trained guitarist. Much different focus. Don't know why I'm posting here really - I'm not that big a fan of either one. Give me a million notes a minute, or one good note. I'll take the blues every time. I'd like to think I'm objective, being an eyewitness and all... To call Vai a copycat isn't fair to him either, he is indeed a talented player.
