CajunBlues
It may sound weird ... But the Headstock logo just doesn't look right to me... http://cgi.ebay.com/1991-Gibson-ES-335-Dot-Reissue-Thin-Neck_W0QQitemZ190364450693QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item2c529aff85

S t e v e
bad day at the gibson factory or a fake?..., gibson logo is a bit suspect as you say
RichCI
Can't say for sure if it's a fake, but I agree that the logo does look weird: the lettering looks thin and the "o" is a complete circle. Here's a '98 for comparison: http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/40U-4700.htm
raine
The logo appears small and the "s" and "o" shaped weird.
Laaz
It has the wings on the headstock, which I have not seen on any counterfeits yet. It's hard to see on my laptop here at work, but it looks like the ends of the frets have the bit of binding over them which fakes don't have. May just be a bad Gibson inlay. Thundergod
It's real. Sometimes that happens to logos... I've seen worse!
Shnate McDuanus
It kind of looks like is says "Gibsom," but the rest of it looks like it checks out. It's either a legit ES-335 with a bad headstock logo, or a very convincing fake.
Stew
Looks like quality to me... I see what you're saying about logo but everything else looks top notch. If it's fake, they spent lots of $ on quality material... to make a fake??? No, It's real.
deepblue
I agree with the lads....The logo makes me go hmmm?
CajunBlues
The more I look at the logo, the more I think it's a fake... But the more I look at everything else, the more I think that's wrong... Another thing is that you'll notice in the f-hole there is that shrink-wrap plastic around the lead wires... So, the pickups may not be original... If it had 57 classics in it and it could be proven, I may change my tune...
Mark
TG is right don't let a bad logo fool you. I have a 335 and yours looks good to me. I doubt a fake would have number pointers and such a nice figured back. My only concern would be the length of the pick guard, It looks more like a Custom then a reissue. Corrosion of conformity
Those are very detailed photos for a fake. The logo does look a little off, but everything else looks great. I'd say it's real.
Mark
Well just for giggles I went to a Chinese site and my o my are they getting better. Still obvious to most of us but if you had limited knowledge of that market it would be easy to be fooled.
CajunBlues
Last night I was able to observe a headstock logo on another 335 from 1988 (same time era) that looked the same as this one... And the owner proved to me that he had 57 Classics in the axe... It's final... This guitar is NOT a fake... I'm convinced... Very strange how the logo could look that different... Maybe the logo went through some changes in the late 80's early 90's ???
