However, 4 of those were el cheapos (Danelectro U2, Squire Tele, a couple Rogues) just for kicks. The only REAL guitar I ever bought brand new was my J-200. And I regret it. Coulda got the same guitar for 2/3 the price used. Also, the fact that it was brand new and I just paid the price of a nice used car for it has really kept me from playing it and making it "mine." TM Posted January 14, 2010 Share Posted January 14, 2010 OK For those of you have purchased EXACTLY one NEW guitar--- what was it? Â The only new guitar I have purchased is a 1997 Gibson J 185N. I bought it from a small dealer back when it seems any one could be a Gibson dealer. The factory called and asked him if he wanted this guitar. It was in a batch they had been built for Jackson Brown. The J185 was not in the line up at the time. The guitar is on loan to my son. I have a 1951 J 185 to replace it.
