im sure my epi les paul standard fake.

this is the serial number EE080416838

model Epiphone Les Paul Standard Deep Sea Blue

Why do you think it is fake? I think there is a bit to much "lil boy crying wolf" on these fakes.

Hope you are wrong...there are some out there, sad to say.

If you got it from an Epi dealer I would say you are safe.

i just just think did epiphone les paul standard has blue colour. i think only plain top have.

Not quite sure what you ment in your first post by deep sea blue.

My avatar only shows up as a medium blue because it was photographed in very bright light. Under normal room conditions it is quite dark. The sides and back are so dark it is hard to tell that they are blue and not black.

Also, it is a plus top.

If you are still in doubt, post pics.

Oh dear lord where are we going with this !!

Anyway we cannot say it's fake just because of your serial number..serial number can be correct but guitar might not be because serial numbers can be stolen (oh how will I explain)....

So post some pics and we can tell you if it's genuine or fake because there are some key features that we have to look into to find out if a guitar is fake..

Oh dear lord !!

if the guitar is fake then I guess the Pickup is too but it might sound good...it's up to you to figure that out..ya "the pick up just stupid pickup"..

The LP Standard Plus is available in Trans Blue. As long as we don't see pics I'd say everything checks out and your guitar is not a fake. The Epiphone pickups have been known to sound "stupid" especcially the bridge PU.

ANOTHER BLUE ONE!!!!! No offense, but the pictures you provided are kinda stretched, but it looks like the real McCoy to me. How come no ones posting their Blue guitars, in my mutual admiration thread in the lounge? Hm? You ALL know who you are. Let's go! MOVE-MOVE-MOVE!!!!!

Edit: Hey Ayush, I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here, but why don't you ease up? The guys in Malaysia, and I'm assuming his English isn't up to par with fluent. We're suppose to be here to help each other, not harp on one's grasp of the English language. Just sayin'...

Agreed that people from other countries should get a break on their english but:

DAMN!

He has a counterfit dictionary for certain.

^^^^ And how is your "Bahasa Malaysian" when your prose is written? ^^^^

I understand where you're coming from. It's a difficult read, but not everybody speaks english. I've got a feeling that our friend Arerife is spelling phonetically.

Arerife: Enjoy the guitar. It looks nice.

"Best" is just opinion. Plenty of excellent offering from Gibson and Seymour Duncan. Visit their website and read up.

GFS and Tonerider if you're on a budget.

Guys, I don't claim to be an expert on Epiphone Les Pauls, but a couple of this look fishy here, even if the pictures

aren't the best. The top part of the headstock seems to really over-extend the tuning machines (almost looks more

like a Casino headstock) from what a Les Paul should be. Also, if arerife lives in Malaysa how did he get an Epiphone

with an "100% Inspected and Set-up in the USA by Inspector#nn" sticker? Unless he bought it off E-bay. And then

again didn't we see in my thread "Whose really to blame for quality..." that the '08 guitars coming out of China now

have stopped using the EE in the Serial Number. Someone posted some backsides of headstocks from ones he saw

in Sweetwater that were '08s. He talks about "stupid pickups". His shows the pickups without the cover (unless he

took them off or already changed the pickups) and the Epi Les Paul Standard Plain Top or Plus Top come stock with covered humbucker pickups. I hope I'm wrong for his sake, but something doesn't seem right here.

arerife, where did you purchase your guitar from? You never mentioned that in any of you notes. That may

also help determine if its the "real McCoy" or a fake. You see yours has an USA inspected and setup sticker on

it. So did you purchase it from somebody in the USA (via E-Bay or some other email related distributor). As I mentioned in my other note, that seems suspect as the new '08s from China on't seem to have that sticker

anymore. Thanks!...Paul
