dougg330 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Just got an email form Guitar Center. Their online store has the Special/Limited Edition Riviera P-93 back in stock - $499 (no case). I'm fiscally handcuffed at the moment, but this is your chance to grab the one I would have bought.
Crabby Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I missed them the first time around, glad they're back. I ordered one from Musicians Friend yesterday with a 15% discount; $424 delivered - can't beat that, hopefully have it by Friday.
dougg330 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 $424 delivered? Uh oh. I feel funny all of a sudden.
JefferySmith Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 $424 delivered? Uh oh. I feel funny all of a sudden. Is the word gassy?
pohatu771 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I'm at a point once again where I must spend or move money so that my checking account doesn't have enough to pay for a guitar... how pathetic is that?
charlie brown Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Man' date=' I got very gassy when I saw that model. [/quote'] Yeah, we ALL did, last fall..when they were first introduced. AND, we did our absolute best, to buy out the entire run....seemingly. LOL! I'm sure you'd not regret the purchase, if you ever decide to buy one. CB

CB[/quote'] Don't know why, maybe because of the Bigsby and the gold, but I keep thinking of this model as my Epiphone Chet Atkins model. Kind of a mixture of a Tennessean and a Country Gentleman.
John1281734170 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I wish they made a regular Casino in that color with 2 black p/u's and pickguard, and no bigsby.......... It's almost a little too much clutter for me.
John1281734170 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 If someone bought a P-93, and didn't care for the Bigsby, would it be possible to take the arm off????
tulsaslim Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I bought one the first time around and every single person that has seen it has said "Wow. Incredibly cool".
Ron G Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I'm laughing, as this model returns at an even better price. Remember these threads? JefferySmith Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Now there is information about the "special runs" on the epi-homepage:http://epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=&CollectionID=19 enjoy! Peter I guess that too much GAS inevitably produces "special runs".

RaSTuS Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Hope they make it to Oz, if not I might have to get someone state side to ship me one, fork the warranty. All I need now is the cash, beg, borrow or steal I'm gonna grab one.
Ron G Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Slim, I saw the $424 but didn't notice the 15%. Regardless, the ranter's stuff from the past is moot.
brianh Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Just got the $424 price for a P93 from MF too. You have to ask about the "HERO" deal. It breaks down like this: 10% off - $100 to $199.99 12% off - $200 to $449.99 15% off - $450 to $999.99 20% off - $1,000 and above I got the P93 and the $89 Epi 335 HSC for $499.80 inlcuding shipping. That was good enough for me to break out the VISA. Thanks for the heads up Crabby!
John1281734170 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Great, now I'm beyond gassy, a little sick............ cuz I know I can't do it right now.
charlie brown Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 If someone bought a P-93' date=' and didn't care for the Bigsby, would it be possible to take the arm off????[/quote'] You could...you'd have to fill in the screw hole, in the top where the anchor for the Bigsby is, and then you could put a Trapeze or Compensator tailpiece on, in place of the Bigsby. But, yeah...it could be done. You could actually drill two holes and install a "stop bar," tailpiece, for that matter. Anything's possible. For those of us, who don't use a vibrato tailpiece much, it would be nice, if they'd make a version, with the Stopbar tailpiece, too...or even a TP-6. That would look pretty cool, I'd think. CB
John1281734170 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Yes it would. Right now I can't decide between a Casino or the P-93 Riviera.............
charlie brown Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 P-93 will give you more variety of tones, less feedback (semi-hollow as opposed to full hollow with the Casino), and...more upper fret access. But, if you don't really play the upper frets that much, it's no big deal. And, the Casino's tendency to feed back at higher volumes, CAN be controlled fairly easily. Plus, it IS an awesome sounding and playing guitar. But then, so is the P-93. ;>b Decisions, decisions! Good luck! CB
