John1281734170
OK, so I've had my Cherry Dot for a month or so and now I agree, the amber knobs have to go. So where should I look for some black ones. Which ones will fit the shafts? Any suggestioins????? Thanks in advance.

Swoop
Send me the amber ones. I will gladly take them off your hands! That goes for anyone ditching the amber knobs.

Hmmm ... would gladly send ya my factory knobs' date=' but the cost of shipping is likely more than the worth of the knobs themselves...[biggrin']
rdsmith3
I like the amber knobs on the Natural finish, but I could see why you wouldn't want it on Cherry.
jcwillow777
+1 on GFS. I put a set of these on my cherry Dot: http://store.guitarfetish.com/vigstchtoblb.html I had a set of there Black speed knobs on for a while, but decided I liked this look better. I put a set of GFS Vintage 59s in it too.

[/quote'] I don't mind the color so much (at least on my honeyburst) - it was the shape of the knobs themselves that didn't "agree" with my fingers .... felt I had to be very "deliberate" when adjusting a knob - I put amber speed knobs on, love 'em to death. brad1
I like the amber knobs on my blue LP. But they looked horrible on my cherry Dot. I got these top hats from Guitar Fetish and thought they were a great replacement.
Guest
Here is my JP Emperor II before I modded it and this is how it looks today and to match those black speed knobs in a few weeks (out of stock at the moment) two Black Mean 90 pickups
John1281734170
Dang, I've really been wanting to replace the stock neck pup with a Mean 90. Now I guess I'll order both of them together......... You guys really like those Means aye?

John1281734170
Well, I bought the genuine Gibson knobs at GC today. They didn't fit........
RSDx
Well' date=' I bought the genuine Gibson knobs at GC today. They didn't fit........[crying'] Gibson knobs are for "fine spline" pot shafts .... Epis use coarse spline shafts, unfortunately.
John1281734170
Yep, I thought I'd take a chance. Oh well, I guess I'll have to go through GFS, and I'd be saving money by buying the knobs and a Mean 90 together. Well, that's what I'll tell the wife anyway.....that's what she says after buying clothes etc.....

lpfan
Well' date=' I bought the genuine Gibson knobs at GC today. They didn't fit........[crying'] Take them back and exchange them for the ProLine brand. Those should fit fine. Oh yeah, just to be safe, make sure they are for a coarse spline. Good luck. Caramello Koala
you can buy them at any guitar store, or on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GIBSON-Vintage-Black-Chrome-KNOBS-Suit-Les-Paul-Guitar_W0QQitemZ370307368077QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Instrument_Accessories?hash=item56380a048d if they don't fit just try pushing them in a little harder, they'll eventually click into place, trust me.
