Anybody recognize this lp doublecut?

So I had somebody offer me this Gibson double cut lp for my casino:

lpspecialdc.jpg

I just thought the upper horn looked different from lower horn. Are they supposed to be like this? I thought they were supposed to be the same. They also said they had an MXR 10 band eq to throw in with it. They said the lp had a few knicks and dings. Should I or shouldn't I? Does anyone know anything else about these lp's? Thanks.

As always Jerry you are the man. Is there any guitar you don't know about? I think I'm gonna make the deal but I'm waiting too hear from the guy to see when we can trade. I also have not touched it so I hope its not dinged up to bad.

Can't take too much credit' date=' it was the trapezoidal fret markers that peaked my interest. It made it pretty easy to find, about 5 minutes on the Google.

Here's one on eBay.

Good Luck!!!

My black Gibson LP Special has the mini trapezoidal fret markers too. I guess that was just something Gibson did to the Specials only? I'm not 100% sure on that though.

Now I think you are crazy. Why you would want to trade your Casino for that is beyond me. But hey' date=' not my decision, and I am somewhat biased towards Casinos after all![/quote']

I probably am crazy since I just got it back but these double cut lp's are alot harder to find then the Casino is. I'm sure I'll get another casino some day. Who knows, maybe I will end up with this casino again for the third time. If that happens I promise I will keep it.

It was your destininy all along to recieve that double cut [-( Never in a million years would of thought trading your casino (and others) for the Tele' then never thought of buying it back, but then never thought youd trade her for a Gibby.

Or it could be none of the above, and that you were lucky.

Either way your getting a nice Gibson.

I have to admit that I get terribly confused by some of Gibson's branding, or model names. To me, a Les Paul Special has always been a P90 powered Guitar, Flat Topped and featuring a Wrap Over Bridge. But then lpfan shows us his Special which is very clearly something else again. I am wondering whether this is in fact a Les Paul Special "Lite"? Anyway, I digress, I had a guitar very similar to the one you have been offered in Trade and would have no hesitation in recommending it if you are looking for something slightly differently voiced to the Casino. Do be aware though, this guitar will sound slightly different because it has P100s which are the Hum cancelling take on a P90. Whilst good in their own right, they are differently voiced to a P90, close? Yes, but they don't have quite the sizzle that a real P90 has.

The guitar became my workhorse for quite a while, used for gigs in venues that we had not played before, simply because it would not have been too much of a financial hit if somebody stole it when compared to say, my more often used Firebird 111.

go for it. like u said, you can find another casino easier than a Gibby dc lp. Although i find you recent guitar acquisition plan alittle hair raising.

DON'T GET RID OF THE SG, THAT IS YOUR DAUGHTERS!!!!!![biggrin]

Which plan are you talking about? I already went back and got the sg if thats what you were talking about. Oh and that was not the sg I traded when I went back and got the casino. I originally traded the sg 400 on the 52 reissue tele deal along with the casino and a setneck lp jr. I went back and bought the sg 400 for $150. Then after that I bought another SG but it was a bolt on neck SG Jr. I traded the SG Jr., fender champ 600 amp, and a fender cd-6 acoustic for the casino. So I still have the SG my 2 year old likes. I don't know if that clears anything up for you or not. I'm not really sure which dea you were talking about. Now I am trading thecasino for a Gibby LP double cut. Rock on! Yeah! LOL!

Get the DC.

As nice as they are' date=' standard Casinos are a dime a dozen.

PS: Do it before they change their mind...[/quote']

LOL! Believe me, I have worried that it may happen. That would be just my luck.

Well I made he deal. Got the double cut lp and the mxr 10 band eq pedal for my casino.

He wasn't lying about it having a few dings. I'll post pics later tonight in a new thread. I'm either gonna leave it as it is or it may be a candidate for a refinish in "cinnamon red" just like CB's double cut that I have been drooling over since the first time I saw it.
