Californiaman
This is a nice pedal. I've seen some great demos of it. I just ordered one from Wildwood. It's a Christmas present from Santa. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCwA0Ho8Tvw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc9170iBJu4&feature=channel

Thundergod
Good sounding pedal. When are you getting it?
Californiaman
It should ship today or tomorrow. It's coming from Colorado (no taxes, free shipping, and a free T-Shirt—oh yeah. So, it'll be a couple of days. As usual, I'm in no hurry. I have my '69 Slight Return to keep me company till it gets here. All I need now is a good A/B box to run the two amps. This will pretty much complete my pedal board for a while. Maybe some more swirly effects later on down the road. For now... I'm good.
Californiaman
Guitar Player Mag just gave the PlimSoul an Editor's Pick Award.

Riverside
Sounds great. Kinda like an old Concert amp. (If I did the smily thing, well, you know...)

surfpup
yeah, I'm looking for a better univibe. I may get the Lovepedal "Pickle Vibe". The demo on PGS.com sounded awesome. I love my Pickle Vibe. It's tiny and makes nice swirly vibe sounds. It was a bit trebley at first, but I tweaked that easily with the internal trim pot. Californiaman
I think you oughta get the python boots too! Great sounding pedal. No on the python boots Tman. It's distressed bull's hide for me. I wear Ariats and really love them. Between them and my Doc Martins I bought back in the late '80s, I'm good. I want to hear a demo of the 69 slight return! Will you use both or switch off?
Californiaman
Demo, I've never posted a demo in my life. What do I use, my i-Mac? I'll post one as soon as I figure it out. And the '69 sounds heavenly with my '57 Deluxe and a Telecaster.
Tman
Demo, I've never posted a demo in my life. What do I use, my i-Mac? I'll post one as soon as I figure it out. And the '69 sounds heavenly with my '57 Deluxe and a Telecaster. I'm glad you said that. I was all cocky and thought "oh man it's easy". It isn't (or at least not for me). I wasn't able to figure out how to upload an mp4 and then post it. Uploaded an mp4 using an inexpensive Belkin "Tune Talk Stereo" on my ipod but then couldn't post it. Wasted at least an hour. I had to record these 20 seconds of Los Lonely Boys' Heaven on my iphone: actually my wife did and when you hear her say "OK when" you can tell she wasn't too happy. She has a big project due tomorrow. Sorry about the TV in the background, just wanted to see if it worked. Anyway, I think this is a doable way to post a demo using youtube. Now, I'm ready to hear yours! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TloOQZ2Snw

Californiaman
It finally arrived tonight. Unfortunately I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to put it through the paces. I will say this about the guys at Wildwood Guitars in Colorado. They rock! They sent me a new T-Shirt to go along with the pedal, which they sold to me for $165.00. They've been good to me every time I have bought something from them. Quality service. A better place I have yet to find on the internet. Anyway back to the PlimSoul. Let you guys know what I think tomorrow.

Californiaman
I've been playing with this pedal for a couple of hours today. It really is everything they claim it to be. I've had the opportunity to use my ES-175 and a Telecaster with it. It's very lively. Very responsive. Most of all the color and tonal range impresses me the most. I'll also say that it's nice to be able to chose from a rich, soft-clipped overdrive for blues and classic rock while the pedal is in the first stage, to a more biting and sustain-filled, lead-tone, with the hard clipping second stage dialed in. I've been able to coax Dumble-like tones as well as Marshall Plexi tones out of it. All while plugged right into the GA-5. I'll try it with the '57 Deluxe and the Two-Tone later. I know, I know, you want to see a video. I'm not there yet. When I get a good enough sound clip, I'll up-load one. The T-Shirt is comfortable too. CrunchCraver
plimsoul doesnt seem like a major difference from the ocd I have,at least from the videos,I need to try one in person, but from the videos the ocd is better and GP mag giving anything a editors pick award doesnt mean much these days, money talks these days in the age of the internet.... FirstMeasure
Thanks so much for this thread. I was just going to start thread asking about this very pedal, now it's on my hunt list. (Or GAS list, as it were).
Californiaman
I've not used an OCD. I do know what I like and I like the PlimSoul. Glad I bought it.
retrosurfer1959
The Plimsoul is a great pedal - I don't own one but only because I already own the 2 Fulltone OCD, Love Eternity, Zvex Distortron, and a ZVEX Box of Rock. I bought a second OCD so that I could leave one on the low OD tone from one and the other is set on high peak for dirtier tones.
