bobrollar
So I came across this tune I have not heard in a while. What do you guys and gals think? John Prine's original version, Bonnie Raitts or Susan Tedeschi's? John Prine Bonnie Raitt Susan Tedeschi
recsec
All threee are great, but to me Susan Tedeschi's is the best.

Searcy
There's a version of John Prine and Bonnie that is my favorite. But for now this one will do.
bobrollar
I have to agree, I like Bonnie's the best but I think it was cool that Susan put a little Sugaree into the end there.

Gilliangirl
The very first time I ever heard this song was late 1979 I think. I was at work and this rockin' version came on the local radio station. I never forgot that version, even tho' the gang I hung out with played JP's version regularly. It was a Canadian band called Leslie Spitt Treeo. The video says the song came out in the 1990's. It did NOT. I heard this song as early as 1979, I'm almost positive. Anyway, here it is....
Searcy
HA! That's cool. Sorta sounds like Joan Jett.

saturn
This is a song we do in one of my bands, but I've never actually listened to the "real" version until this thread! The guys taught me the song when I joined the band and I've just been playing it my way the whole time. Although the song seems to be sung from the view of a woman, I actually prefer the John Prine version the best. The other two are still very good. Windmills Optional
It's a great song and all these versions are excellent, but I've got a soft spot for John Prine's version. We used to do this back in college, but I hadn't played it in years before suddenly deciding to give it a go last week. And then this thread pops up. Weird. But good weird.
