Silenced Fred
Saw it last night at my drummer's house. I think they are playing it again tonight. I think its worth a watch, especially if you like the Foos. At the end when he's talking about the new record and they had clips of recording, he's tracking the guitars and his daughter comes up and pokes him and goes "you promised to go swimming" and while still playing, he just says "daddy has to record guitars, then we'll go". For whatever reason, that just put the whole album in perspective for me. I mean this guy wrote a monster album, but he's still a normal person. I enjoyed it
marvar
That scene touched me too- sure enough, he goes swimming with her a bit later, while other tracks are being recorded.
Guest FarnsBarns
Did you expect me to make a f&*@ing reggae record? The whole thing was brilliant and while I quite like the Foos I would not call myself a fan. Some nice guitar porn in there too!
Searcy
I saw them here in Nashville when they were opening for Mike Watt on the van tour. Even got to talk to Dave, Mike, Pat and Eddie after the show for a while. I spent most of the time talking to Watt about Gibson basses and the lack of AC at 328. I went out the next day and bought the first FF cd. Great movie.
Andy R
I saw them on Saturday Night Live and they sounded great! I love a band that can sound good on a SNL or late night shows. Anyway I'm not a major Fanboy of the FF but I like a lot of their stuff. I admire Dave's song writing ability and sense of melody and timing. He is definitely gifted. Infamous
Yeah, I caught the last half of that documentary as well - really, really cool (especially the scene with his daughter!). I can't wait to see the whole thing.
saturn
Is that the one where Dave said if he knew this band would be so successful, he would have come up with a better name?
kaleb
I like them but I don't idolize them though, although I have always wanted to party with Dave ( hes too funny ). Funny enough, I like the Foos but do not care for Nirvana ( dont get into that style and the only thing I liked was Dave's monster Bonham-ish drumming---for me he made the whole band ). Sure the lack of solos kinda gets to me but their tunes pump me up. I also respect them for not sounding like the Nickelback/3 Doors Down party. Im tired of it!!! The only " modern " bands I like are Foos and Alterbridge ( Ah, Creeds alright too). So I saw parts of the doc. ---very cool. Id like to say this here.....( this has nothing to do with FF ), Im kinda getting sick of players with the PRS/ Mesa Rectifier combo---everyone sounds the same. I go with Marshalls, man. ( dont have one though ). EL34 POWER to the MASSES!!!!!

ShredAstaire
It was great. I'm a bigger fan of the Foos after seeing it. I didn't know too much about them before, I am just a big fan of Dave Grohl... I didn't know they had so much line up trouble... Anyway cool movie but it made me miss Seattle!!
