Pete B
Fake I guess? And the paint job looks all wrong. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Custom-Silverburst-Ltd-Edition-/150661632496?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item23142211f0

Supersonic
God that's ugly. It looks fake to me. Isn't the "burst" pattern supposed to go around the body on those and not in that "teardrop" pattern? Send in the experts for official Shenanigans conformation! mbrooks0711
+1 on everything, and I will add no inspection stickers and that weird stamp label like the older elitist models.
rubyred
Paint job is no where near a `burst of any kind! What paint job should be form the manufacturers website fro reference to paint job.

bigneil
The Gibby ones have the teardrop shaped burst but I have never seen an Epi one with a teardrop shaped burst.

I did that. No Silverburst Epiphones in teardrop. Just Gibsons. What was your point other than being jackhole? I must have missed it. Now run along and go piss in your own forum. matiac
Truth be told, I like the Gibson paintjob better than how Epiphone does it...it just don't look right. But yeah, this particular example is fake. As stated, Epiphone follows the edge of the body on the burst...they did it the same way on 'ol Blue. (Probably not the original source) No history of where he got it from...
Pete B
Better paintjob this time but the EE? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Custom-Silverburst-Guitar-/120781164617?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1c1f1e5049
Pete B
Soo many fakes about http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/epiphone-zakk-wylde-guitar-/270820551672?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3f0e29abf8
RaSTuS
Better paintjob this time but the EE? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c1f1e5049 That is a much better paintjob, it'd be hard to tell the difference just judging by that alone, for me anyway. RaSTuS
The worse part about this EE thing is that Epi no longer uses that format serial number, now they are all digits, making it much easier to fake that part of the equation IMHO. Good point .... In this day and age, it's pretty amazing that the fakers didn't wise up real fast and scale down the "EE" font ...... but, I guess it didn't really matter that much, as they appear to have sold a bunch in spite of that glaring error, as well as all the other give-aways. Bass-turds!!!! Just drives home the point "buyer beware".....that's why I prefer to buy from a legit dealer, and prefer to buy new if I can (in spite of paying the price)....I wonder if there were ever fake Epi Valve Jrs made??? Ya gotta wonder, they were pretty popular for a while
