Gilliangirl
You know, I'm really jealous of today's kids and this whole YouTube thing. If we'd had YouTube when I was a kid, I'd actually be able to play guitar by now.

Johnt
I like Jeff Beck's super technician JEFFREY!! Saw Beck on TV last night at Ronnie Scotts I had forgotten to my shame what a genius that man is, He had a band as tight as a ducks a$$ featuring a tiny redhaired lady bassist who must have been about 18 playing a huge f*nder Precision, Kind of a latter day Carol Kaye! The guys a genius...............................# I give up..............................................# AJ? do you want to buy the SWD12.....# J45?.....................................................# ES 335 No thats Niks!.........................# SJ300 RW.............................................# I knew when it was time to quit smoking I think it's time to quit the guitar! TWilson
Wiley-Great video. It's like having Babe Ruth, Lou Gherig, Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Midkey Mantle on the same team! great stuff. Unless you can play like that, you're not allowed to make this face!
TWilson
Albertjohn-Great Python skit. Brightened my morning mood, thanks! ( I also understood almost everything they said!) Johnt- Sorry to hear you're selling your guitars but after carefully rereading your post, I believe you might have an interest in vetrinary medicine, specifically as a duck proctologist. What's tighter, a ducks a$$ or a bull's a$$ in fly season? I'm sure that question will be on your final examination. Hey, isn't Bob your uncle? onewilyfool
Watch Jeff Beck play the blues. He plays with the tremelo bar, which a lot of the greats don't (he's the only one in this group who plays like that) Listen to some of the sounds he gets out of that guitar......wow! Rambler
"Thanks for the Paul Rishell video on YouTube - it was great." You bet! Alway the contrarian, me: Beck has oodles of technique. But, feeling? That, I wager, is the essence of the Blues. As marked by dynamics, spacing, sensitivty. For ex: Hooker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77pmWCpMNkI Wolf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM-73uROlR4 A King; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4cXxdRVAKY&feature=related Alber Collins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0mXWy0aHYQ Bobby Cray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gspgpKcu7Bo Cray and A king, especially, cut like a KNIFE. TWilson
Jkinnama- I hear you. There are many fine blues players but to my ear there is a certain inexplainable element to the blues that can't be captured, in my humble opinion, by anyone but a black blues player, man or woman. TWilson
I say John Mayall and Eric Clapton are the best white blues men on earth.. You beat me to it! I just heard a John Mayall cut on "Blues Tuesday" on the station I listen to at work. I agree with what you said. There is a guy who has played in Oregon for years by the name of Curtis Salgado who no one has probably heard of. He sings and plays the harp in his group and he gives you that same feeling. If you have a copy of "The Blues Brothers" with Bulushi and Akroyd' date=' they have a little "Special Thanks to Curtis Salgado" on the back. Apparently he helped Dan Akroyd with the harp stuff. The movie was shot in Eugene, Oregon 40 miles down the road. Gotta love them blues! I sometimes have 'em, wish I could play 'em!! [/size']
