Searcy
It's time to play "What's that on Searcy's bench..?" A game in which participants try to name what Searcy is working on and what kind of guitar it came out of. This weeks pick.

Californiaman
Looks to me like a wiring harness out of an old silvertone or Kay guitar.

Thermionik
Some kind of lap steel or similar..... that yellow criss-cross looks familiar, and those huge letters on the knobs..... Two-pup, old VOX or Selmer, Hofner. Beats me, but horribly familiar.

boozeball
Very nice! I love those '60s Kay and Airline guitars. Make sure to post pics when the whole thing is restored.
Searcy
That's it for me. All I do is rewind the pickups and send it back to the owner. I'm one of the few people that will rewind these. I'm sure that will change now that I have done this video about it though. I'll ask him to get me a picture when he gets it back up and running. He was very eager to get it back fast as it's his main guitar.

Kennis
Don't think I've seen that pickup mounting system before. I'm guessing it's from a real hollow body where the pickup is mounted without penetrating the top?

Searcy
Ok, these are called Single-Buckers. The magnets structure is similar in concept to a Gibson Charlie Christian pickup. They were found on guitars from National, Supro One issue with them is that they had paper bobbins. When people open them up they usually destroy them. This one I'm working on this week needed a totally new bobbin made for it.
