j45nick
Just couldn't pass up this picture: a Syrian resistance fighter, strolling the battered streets of Aleppo. Weapon over his shoulder, guitar in hand. It's a mixed and universal image that we can all understand. In the midst of chaos and carnage, a man seeks solace with his guitar. When life gets out of control, we ground ourselves with what we find comforting and familiar. Guess I'm just an old hippie, but I couldn't help but think of the Buffy St. Marie song when I saw this photo.

E-minor7
A very touching picture. Read it as it is or see other levels there. There's almost no limit to the interpretations – and take a feel within. We all carry those 2 swords as we go. . . .

MorrisrownSal
I know this is supposedly Aleppo. It looks exactly like a coastal Syrian town I used to visit when I was a kid - Tartous. I would be so homesick for the USA whenever I was visiting.
duluthdan
Ahhh, humans. Lest we forget. Very powerful image. I do not pretend to understand the passionate reasons for armed conflict, but somehow, this picture, I understand.
