New Strings

I am looking at some new stings for my LP Standard has anyone played: Gibson Masterbuilt Premium Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings? Any one have any favorites I should try? Im using Ernie Ball Nickel Hybrid Slinky Electric Guitar Strings 9-46 now.

Should be interesting. I wouldn't do it, but by all means go for it. Let us know how she sounds. [-X

 

I did use a flatwound 013 Jazz-guitar set with a wound G-string on an Ibanez AS200 ('81 model ES345 copy) once. Felt odd, to say the least. Half the fun with a Les Paul and other similar guitars is (IMO) the flat radius, big frets and wide fretboard which makes it a dream to bend on. Forget that with those strings.

 

But that wasn't phosphor bronze either. No idea how those metals will respond to alnico magnets.

I think there was a video on Youtube that had a guy who resembled Thundergod playing an LP Studio with acoustic guitar strings. I can't find it anymore, but if anyone has spare time to surf through Youtube, please upload it. Regarding your question, I favor Gibson Humbucker Strings. It's a bit brighter than bright wires and it has higher gain than most other strings I've tried.
