While I love Gibsons, I do not love the strong smell (vanilla-scented) that the Gibson cases have. The smell gets on the guitar and sometimes bothers me while I'm playing it.

How do I get rid of this smell?

Febreze spray, followed by a half day sitting open out in the sunshine.

Am I alone in this?

Am I alone?

Itís not the case itís the guitar.

Vanilla is a better smell than cat pee... donít ask me how I know....

The smell becomes much less after the guitar has been out of the case for a day or several. And then after I leave it in the case, it's smelly again. Just the empty case alone reeks of the smell.

I just ordered a new Gibson just for the wonderful sweet aroma of Tone... ahhh  [thumbup]
If Gibson offered a air freshener in the "Aroma of Tone" it would be in high demand and on Back Order at every retail outlet.
Back up my Hard Drive? How do I put it in reverse?

They use more than one scent. My ES-339 was vanilla, the LP was different, kind of spicy.

Swap it for one of my cases ;)
I sometimes think; therefore I am intermittent

Give it to me! ;)

Like others have posted, it will fade away soon enough. You can try wiping it down with Gibson polish, and let the case air out for a couple days.

Personally, I try to keep that smell as long as I can, lol :D
