  1. New 1957 SJ-200 owner here from far south coast NSW.
  2. Reminds me of Queen when they played at an open air concert in Australia in 1974 - they arrived late and were booed - they finished their set and Freddie said, "We're going to be the biggest band in the world!"
  3. My proctologist has one exactly like that.
  4. Just wondering ... have you heard the Steven Wilson remaster/remixes? I have Jethro Tull, Yes and ELP and they are excellent.
  5. I believe this is the 'period correct' case that came with my new Historic 1957 SJ-200.
  6. My 2020 Custom Shop Historic 1957 SJ-200 just reads '1957 J-200' on the internal label and '1957 SJ-200' on the Certificate of Authenticity.
  7. 150 quid difference ... I couldn't decide, they both look good.
  8. There was a Ron Wood signature SJ-200 too ... no comment. and of course the Elvis SJ-200.
  9. Always wanted a SJ-200 and I'm a big Pete Townshend fan - but I just don't like the bridge on the Pete Townshend signature SJ-200.
  10. I'll be interested to see how you find those J Pearse 80/20's on your rosewood SJ-200 - I just finished playing my maple '57 SJ-200 and they've really won me over ... and this is from a guy that HATED 80/20's before this!
  11. I can tell you now that's an early model Roto-Wipe - if you look carefully the brush rotates in the wrong direction - the poop hits the fan it is spread upwards - messy! I did the very first string change on my 1957 SJ-200 a few days ago - went with J Pearse 80/20 lights - I normally hate 80/20's but this is a very warm sounding guitar - lifted the mids right up and still has plenty of bottom end.
  12. Unlike the J200 guard, the back portion between the bridge and sound hole looks like it fits under half the strings.
  13. I was going to offer to check one or both out if they were anywhere near me - far south coast of NSW - but covid is causing havoc with border closures and Christmas traffic is mad .. still, it's better than last years fires!
  14. Purely based on visuals .. I like the 1st one with the 4-bar insert bridge and keystone tuners, saddle height looks good too.
  15. I got a nice new one to replace the rough looking one that came with the guitar - just put it on 2 days ago when I did the very 1st string change.
  16. Nice one Rowdy, great looking guitar - I prefer the 4 bar insert bridge over the 2 bar and the keystone tuners over Grover rotomatics. My new Historic 1957 SJ-200 also has that same truss rod cover with wide white border.
  17. Thanks but there's no way I'm putting .013's on this thing - it just doesn't need it! Did my 1st string change yesterday and decided to try J Pearse 80/20's - I normally can't stand 80/20's but this is the warmest sounding guitar I've owned - not bad at all! Plenty of volume and bottom end in the mix, the mids are louder and clearer, a little string noise and more tension than the Gibson PB's fitted at the factory.
  18. It was in the guitar when I bought it and I'm pretty sure I'd bust it trying to take it out - it 's gone quite hard - guitar sounds good so I've just left it in - does it work? Can't tell you!
