  1. If we're really lucky, he'll remake Animals and get rid of that giant flying pig and roll out in inflatible Mr. Quackers. Hope he wasn't eating berries before the show, maybe I'll pack an umbrella instead of a US Bong (for once).
  2. I didn't pay attention to the rankings, it was more the instruments they showed and the brief blurbs. I was listening to Mark Ribot yesterday but had no idea what he looked like until I read through all 250 guitarists.
  3. Lots of people I'm unfamiliar with on this list, lots of really interesting guitars here: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-guitarists-1234814010/john-frusciante-4-1234814293/
  4. Buy a ticket to see him and find out. Unless he's been banned for running around in an SS uniform like he did not too long ago. Although, at his age it's probably more like hobbling around in an SS uniform. I hear he has an autobiography coming out, I'm guessing it's basically I'm so wonderful, you're not.

  6. Plugged some holes in the JJ Cale collection: Shades, Really (Vinyl), 10 (CD)
  7. A whole bunch: Mad Dogs and Englishmen, remastered (CD and Vinyl) George Harrison - Live In Japan (Vinyl) Tom Waits - Real Gone, The Black Rider, Bone Machine (Vinyl) Leon Russell - A Song For You (DVD), Solid State (Vinyl), Angel In Disguise (CD) Delaney and Bonnie - Motel Shot (CD) Jethro Tull - Nothing Is Easy-Live At The Isle Of Wright 1970 (Vinyl) Roxy Music - The Thrill Of It All (CD and Vinyl), Live In Lyon (Blu Ray), Live At The Apollo (DVD), Concerto (CD) King Crimson - Neal And Jack And Me (DVD) Chris Spedding - Just Plug Him In (CD) Edgar Winter - Brother Johnny (Vinyl)
  8. Yeah, get your lazy butts off of Social Security and Medicare and get a job, BOOMER!
  9. Gibson neck profiles are all over the place, you can never be sure of what you're getting. SGs seem to be really variable, I've had them where's the rest of it (61 Reissue) to this belongs on a classical guitar (Classic). The SG Special and Standard have been pretty consistent from my limited experience.
  10. That they are. Don't let it sit idle too long, you'll turn it on and go uh oh.
  11. I had some old junk laying around and some spare time today so decided to hook it up and see how bad it sounded. Magnepan MMG speakers (the little guys), Kimber 8TC speaker cables, Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 preamp, Conrad-Johnson MV2275 amplifier and a current Rega Apollo CD player. It doesn't sound bad at all, it sounds great! Not the last word in anything and needs a subwoofer hooked up but what a fun sounding system. Leon Russell's Streaker Ball was a lot of fun to listen to. Pardon the mess, I wasn't expecting company.
  12. You see on the news that Al DiMeola had a heart attack on stage.
  13. One friend's comment was it seems like a cash grab by Gibson, I don't know why they even called it a Supreme.
  14. It's back again but with a lot of changes. The main one is the Ultra Modern Weight Relief, I can't tell from the pictures but I think they lost the arched back. https://www.gibson.com/en-US/Collection/les-paul-supreme
  15. To go along with our roads and libraries and public schools and subsidies to farmers, Gibson will soon be announcing the Les Proletariat.
  16. Someone posted earlier about a Les Paul Standard possibly going for $3,000 by the end of the year. They're $3,000 right now, $200 cheaper with P90s.
  17. Wonder when they're going to start putting these on the back?
  18. Not much of a story behind it but I always wanted a Gold Top with P90s. When they came out in 2019 I had to get one. I know what you mean by "that sound". As soon as I plugged it I went, "so THAT'S what was making the sound on all of those records"!
  19. One of my younger cousins was at work on the 101st floor of the 2nd tower. Wife, two young kids, none of those people that day had anything to do with any sort of conflict in the Middle East. It took a while but I'm glad they threw Bin Laden in the drink. Say hello to the fish for me.
  20. I found a good destination for a motorcycle trip: https://caseknives.com/pages/zippo-case-museum
  21. If you join the Buck Collector's Club (BCCI) you'll get a pretty good discount from Buck with their Pro Program. The discount far outweighs the $20 annual membership cost. The process is join the collector's club and then fill out the Pro Program application on the Buck site. https://buckcollectorsclub.org/ https://www.buckknives.com/about/company/pro-application-form/ If you're a fire fighter, veteran, etc. you don't need to join the BCCI but their newsletters are fun to read. Here's the date code chart, Sparky does have a 2005. 2022 (or maybe 2023) looks like a check mark with a downward facing tail up at the top.
  22. They say it was skin cancer that ran amuck, poor guy.
  23. Conratulations on your new acquisition. If anything ever happens to it, Buck will put on a new blade and refurbish it for $30 shipped. I sent one in I had since probably 1978 and it came back looking like new (and it was pretty hammered).
