Has anyone got any 'old' music that's largely been forgotten about, then you hear it for the first time in ages? Here's one that I heard today.

My J15 is rather on the bright side, thats what I like about it but I do find the string make and type have a big influence on the sound, Elixir ones seem bright and clear sounding. Great guitar, I'd never sell mine. Mine was produced on the 6th of March 2014 so it's nearly its 10th Birthday🙂.

My Wife doesn't want me to buy a Telecaster, she's happy for me to buy Gibson's but not Telecaster's, she says she doesn't want anything that ugly in the house. I often wonder how I manage to get in 🙂

I was quite lucky, the first live gig that I ever saw (my 'big sister' took me) was Mott the Hoople and they were supported by Queen. It was quite an eye-opener seeing this rather strange fellow prancing around the stage singing Hey Big Spender and Jailhouse Rock!

When I saw Queen in 1974 Brian had a Les Paul on a stand as a backup guitar. I remember that quite clearly.

I hope that doesn't give the impression that I'm any good at classical because I'm not! I'm still learning, it seems to be a never-ending process. Looking on the bright side I will be visiting a fascinating place called Cta.de Gomerez in Granada, Spain later this year. It's a street that, 25 years ago was lined with Guitar builders, but sadly there are now only two left. When you enter the shop's they tend to lock the door behind you (I think for privacy) and the luthiers workbench serves as the shop counter. Needless to say I am looking forward to my visit🙂

A variety of interesting Les Paul's compared by Guitarist Magazine, a bit on the long side (it's an hour and a half!) but there are some interesting bits.

Did you notice that they increased the diameter of the cardboard tube in the centre of the rolls a few years ago?
