  1. Larry , Awesome guitar !!! Enjoy it in good health . JC
  2. Your theory is wrong.Gibson offered all hide glue acoustics while Ren Ferguson was there and even after that. They did HG series guitars for Wildwood: JC
  3. I might be in the minority here but this doesn’t bother me at all ... it’s just glue . The sound and tone of a guitar is subjective as well . I’m sorry Gibson wasn’t the brand for you. JC
  4. Folks, Unfortunately do to the pandemic the audio is terrible (online concert) but at least it’s actual proof that Keef’s Nellcôte bird is still loved and making music : JC
  5. You are probably referring to the J 45 custom : http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2017/J-45-Custom.aspx JC
  6. Folks , Check it out: It seems to me the reissue sounded almost exactly like the 38 (the experience might vary in person) . Great job Gibson ! JC
  7. Maybe production was affected by the covid slowdowns and they had to put some of these together with what they had at the time. I’m aware Gibson has always had the right to change specs without notice and the original banners came in all sorts of combinations so there is really no harm done. But other less comprehensive people could totally bad talk Gibson because of this. I posted the question mark at the end because I wanted to get other opinions on this and you have all made valid points. It certainly is a great guitar regardless of the changes. JC
  8. Folks, Unfortunately it appears Gibson is having a hard time getting the Banner Year models true to the prototypes from NAMM.Here’s a Southern Jumbo with 20 frets (Prototype had 19 ) and No parallelogram inlays !!!! .The protype also has binding and this one does not. Maybe Gibson is just putting together all sorts of combinations at this point.Quirky for sure. JC
  9. This is one of the torrified SJ 200 Vintage models with Adi . He purchased this guitar in Nashville (The dealer made a Facebook post about the purchase at the time) .It debuted at the South African shows of 2017. https://catstevens.com/cats-attic-peace-train-tour-opening-night/ Sounds awesome JC
  10. I played a Blonde 1957 Sj 200 at NAMM and it was amazing. JC
  11. We can’t help you without a photo. JC
  12. Folks, Check it out: Great maple tone imho. JC
  13. You can hear it pretty clearly in this other clip: JC
  14. Folks, Check out Kravitz on the bird : JC
  15. The J 55 felt really nice in my hands. It had a thinner neck than the 34 Jumbo . I would say the 34 Jumbo and the J 55 were the more powerful sounding of the bunch (at least with my playing style) . The Rosewood AJ and S. Jumbo seemed robust but with a very clear voice in my experience. JC
  16. Folks, Check out Layne Staley with a Country Western during Alice In Chains’ unplugged: JC
  17. Folks, Check out this amazing 34 L 00: I don’t share much videos from these guys since Agnesi left but this guitar is exceptional . JC
  18. That’s the most killer looking set of rosewood I’ve ever seen ( the Southern Jumbo and Advanced Jumbo I played had similar looking wood). Absolutely Stunning. Congratulations. JC
  19. Folks, Check it out: Hank Williams' Gibson LG-2 Guitar, Numbered 2111, bound body with sunburst finish, neck block ink-stamped 2111, and written in red 29, mahogany neck and fingerboard with dot markers, headstock with slanted logo decal, varnish crackled and worn, bridge lifting, body cracked Hank Williams, whose vocal style set the definitive 'country' sound, owned this model just prior to the end of WWII and an affidavit states that he sold it to an employee of the Union Stockyards in Montgomery, Alabama. It was then purchased in February 1946, by Hub Owens, who retained it until January 1994 Although it does carry a number, during the war, Gibson ceased production of electric models and only produced a limited number of selected acoustic types. The handwritten number is not a serial number as low-end budget models did not carry one from 1927-47, but a factory order reference. lt also has the wartime logo, 'Only A Gibson Is Good Enough' on the headstock. Only a few documented Williams' guitars are known to exist: two are in the Hank Williams Museum, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Alabama archives each have one, and Neil Young, Marty Stuart and Bruce Gidoll each own one. JC
  20. The bee’s wax can be reapplied as needed when wear happens .Richlite is a man made version of Ebony I believe. Watch this video Don from Gibson talks about the launch of the series last year: JC
  21. 😂😂😂 thanks for keeping the shtick going. I’ll admit the guard was the only weak point of the guitar . JC
  22. Folks, For your consideration 1 used but very elusive Gibson Sparrow Dreadnought. https://reverb.com/item/33640026-gibson-sparrow-acoustic-electric-2012-sunburstohsc-papers-fancy-hummingbird No affiliation with seller. JC
