Could be a few things. First thing I would check is the nut slots. If they're too snug the strings can hang up.
  2. I suppose you could M2M order any color you want, but that would require one to buy a new Gibson guitar which eliminates 80% of the members.
  3. I think one of my L00's has a little pizza (Murph) Herring bone binding, bound fingerboard, head stock inlay.
  4. I had a double neck. Not a Gibson but Gretsch. It was made for a much younger man. Too heavy to stand with and too big to sit with. It was nice looking.
  5. OP hasn't check in since he posted
  6. I've been through about 150 guitars in my lifetime. Currently, no regrets. Getting ready for another herd thinning.
  7. Did you change your style and start wearing corduroy pants 😀
  8. Pictures would help and if you post it in the Acoustic lounge, there are quite a few mandolin players there. Welcome to the forum.
  9. Hope my family doesn't find out I have a few Gibsons. They ain't aikin to any hoity-toity attitude.
  10. John, Wishing you the best and enjoy every day. One of my older brothers is on that journey too. Dave
  11. I had a M2M L00 12 fret built. The neck off the J45 12 fret is what I spec’d for it.
  12. Nothing about Keb on that label. You may be comparing pricing on two different models.
  13. That label shows it was stickered on Sept. 18, 2023
  14. Personally, I would not buy used guitars from Japan. Just my opinion - When one pops up on Ebay, 20 other sellers from Japan will copy the ad and put the same guitar up for sale. I don't think they let the goods ones out of their country. I think they use USA as a dumping ground. And as 62B mentioned, cost of returning it are prohibitive.
  15. Note that the Keb Mo has a 16" radius fret board (more like Martin) and a 25" scale. Small differences but will not feel like a J45
  16. I'm in one of those moods too. Likewise, I'm waiting for the seller's market to go back up. I've been to Gruhn's. I have to avoid that place. I always fall for the expensive ones.
  17. I have tried to downsize, and I am planning another thinning of the herd. I was up to 50+, got down to 20+ and then crept back up to 30+. I would like to get down to a dozen or less.
  18. I need to update my pictures, some are gone, and new ones have been added.
  19. Just my opinion, I think the LP Std pricing is still reasonable. I think the J45 and D28 pricing is reasonable. All guitars are getting expensive like everything else. Taylor entered the market as reasonably priced acoustics made entirely on cnc machines with bolt on necks. Their manufacturing is the same but their pricing has rocketed too unless you get the Mexican made ones.
  20. Are againts the extra globs of glue?
  21. I did a quick look and a lot of the L5 bound guards look the same shape but look to be about a half inch wider which makes sense for a 17” guitar
  22. Here's a 1" grid (based on the lower bout being 16"). Pickguard looks to be 10+" long, 3.5" wide at lower and about 1.5" at top with white binding. Good luck hunting. Archtops | Pickguardian Archtop Scratchplates - TinyTone
  23. I took a snapshot of this video that claims it's an original pick guard. It may help you. Plus the opening shot of the video.
