I used the StewMac Swirl Removal and hand rubbed. Then followed with the Gibson polish.

The Lucy Project is now complete!!!! Although the UV lamp barely did anything and didn't want that to turn into a 6 month adventure I just decide to go with guitar as is. Really happy with headstock repair even though I wasn't able to completely mask the repair, it still looks better than it did in its original cosmetic state. Working with nitrocellulose lacquer was much easier than I thought it would be, just as long as you follow StewMac's instructions to the tee, and also wear PPE and use in a well ventilated area. Since I had all the electronics and hardware, all I needed to buy was the lacquer kit from Stewmac and TRC. Total for the guitar a tad over $1100

They do a great job but their buy in 3 and 6 plans are a little bit of a ripoff. The PayPal "pay in 4" is much cheaper to do when you checkout.

We just had a state of emergency in SoCal with a low of 40 degrees F.

Being that this is my first time I'm going to start with 1000 grit then finish with 2000. It will take a bit longer but I want to make sure I don't sand through the lacquer..... which is why I sprayed 12 coats.

Positions 4 and 6 on my L6-S rotary knob put both pickups out of phase..... So it is done through the wiring.

My mom was adamant that we always spoke English outside of the home as kids, and spoke our other languages at home or around relatives. My dad didn't care either way as he learned to speak English in America. My mom learned to speak English in Mexico. Once Ronald Reagan amnestied over three million Latinos in the late 80's, I felt much more comfortable speaking Spanish, as more people were speaking Spanish in the USA and especially SoCal.

We don't always use bad words...lol. It was nice to have a dad that spoke French as a first language and a mom that spoke Spanish. We all speak three languages pretty fluently.

We pretend not to speak English so that we can hear what people really think. Then we speak Spanish around dumb-**** so they can't understand when we are talking smack about them.

I'm using what StewMac recommended. I hardly doubt spraying Nitro on a headstock is going to affect the tone on an electric guitar. lol

AHHHHH.... I just noticed a crack on the fretboard!!!! From the 16th to the 24th fret..... Looks like I'm gonna have to order some ebony wood filler and mix it with wood glue. DAMN!!!
