  1. Sure. Once I transferred to pinstriping there were periods where we worked 7/12. That was pretty rough. those periods were usually in late fall, so it was dark when I went into work and dark when I got out. And got to where my kids were tucking me into bed! And as those times went well into the winter I had to arrange a day off a month in advance to do any Christmas shopping. But those 84 hour paychecks sure looked good. Whitefang
  2. And Terry Gilliam's unique animation made for good watching too. Like this...... Whitefang
  3. Back around those times I was working at the Cadillac main plant(built in 1921) on Clark St. in Detroit. On hot days we had to depend on the few fans hanging on the ceiling or whatever big floor fans could be found. My foreman at the time thought he was doing us a favor by bringing in huge stainless steel dispensers of lemonade. Lemonade never really quenched my thirst to begin with, and in this case it was worse as the lemonade was warm! 🙄 Eventually the company struck a deal with Canteen( who had charge of all the break area vending machines) to fix the soft drink machines, the kind that dispensed soft drinks a cup at a time to dispense soft drinks at no charge. And it was cold too. Whitefang
  4. Wow. For FREE? People have paid good money to see that! 🤪 Whitefang
  5. "Walk Right Back"--The Everly Brothers Whitefang
  6. I imagine you'd have to be pretty good to paint on a hole. IN the hole would mean no driver will ever see what you painted as he's busy swerving to avoid it. But if you're REALLY good, perhaps something like this..? Whitefang
  7. Y'know, the vid that Spark posted only had Pete talking about the "Frampton Comes Alive" LP. But when it ended, among the array of clip choices you're given I found this. Kinda explains more about it. And another question concerning the linked story of Joe Walsh selling Jimmy page his first Les Paul: If, as Joe claims Jimmy said in '69 that Les Pauls weren't available in England, then how did Mick Taylor get his Les Paul in '67? Whitefang
  8. "Pony Time"--Chubby Checker Whitefang
  9. I considered them using "Def" in the name as in it's slang usage: def2 [ def ]SHOW IPA adjective Slang. excellent:That hip-hop record is def! ORIGIN OF DEF 2 An Americanism dating back to 1980–85; of uncertain origin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's the "Leppard" spelling that needs more clarification. Might be connected to renowned British composer and conductor RAYMOND LEPPARD. Can't really be sure. Whitefang
  10. Interesting thing about speed.... Alto sax player Paul Desmond, in a Downbeat interview, mentioned that he practiced for a certain amount of time each day. Or tried to as he noticed that after a while he'd start to play "too fast". What got me was that it seemed speed was what most musicians tried to obtain through practice. Most listeners too, it seems, are more dazzled by a musician's(be it sax, piano, guitar, whatever) speed. Take Malmsteen for example. Or too, EVH. Guys are just mesmerized by their speed. But to me, it's speed without purpose or direction. Just wanking. McLaughlin, DeMeola and Metheny play with a lot of speed too. But somehow it seems more disciplined . And good luck with the grandkids. I'm sure one(maybe two) will take up music because, "Grandpa used to." especially if you're helping them get started. Whitefang
  11. I go along with the belief it was who owned them that made them exceptional . And I don't know the story behind Frampton's guitar's 30 year absence either, so now I too might have to throw out all my recorded guitar music. And my guitars. Whitefang
  12. Chris has been around for quite a while. But I only got hip to him about 28 years ago. But I was really pointing out that there are ways for you to keep good time without relying on a drummer. The foot stomp thing Chris does goes way back in the blues/folk music genres. Quite possibly to the 18th century or further. I'm quite surprised to get the impression that after as long as you've presumptively been playing music you haven't gotten the habit of tapping your foot or the heel of your foot rhythmically or developed an "inner" foot tap. 13. Yeah, the sound association thing--- Like the running water with my dogs, there once was a product that was ice cream formulated for consumption by dogs only. As regular ice cream isn't recommended for dogs or other pets. My sister used to get it for the dog she had at the time, but she'd soften it up for him by putting it in the microwave for 20 or so seconds. So whenever he heard the microwave running he'd come running for his ice cream. After about a year either that company quit making it, or the pet shop she got it from quit selling it, but she couldn't find it anywhere. And sadly, anytime she'd use her microwave for reheating a cup of coffee or heating up anything else the dog would run into the kitchen expecting some ice cream. Kinda made her sad. Whitefang

  15. With your years of experience I'd think a drummer wouldn't be necessary. Or you could try a blinking metronome out of sight of the camera? Anyway, there's different things to try. THIS guy never really needs a drummer. Whitefang
  16. That's pretty good. Most dogs just chew their toys to shreds and leave the debris all over the house. Tell them to go get something and they ignore you like a cat would. But sure, dogs can learn to associate the sounds with a particular object or function. Like we'd ask our dogs, "want to go outside?" and they'd head for the back door. It was the "outside" they recognized. Running water in the kitchen would get associated with feeding time. Often, when I'd run water in the kitchen to fill a coffee pot or just a pot to maybe boil some noodles I'd notice them sitting just at the kitchen door, staring at me, thinking I'm getting ready to feed them. At both this house and the house we lived in before, we'd often get rabbits in the backyard. Megan would chase after them barking like a maniac, but could never get close to catching them. And those buggers would seemingly disappear into thin air! She'd stand at the spot where she last saw them and continue barking for a while. Whitefang
  17. Sure beats Andy Williams IMHO. Whitefang
  18. Not bad Rob. But you could have eased back on the tempo a smidge. And an acoustic treatment with that beauty of a Dove of yours might work too. Just sayin'-------- Whitefang
  19. I first heard of Subaru from a buddy of mine who was stationed in Okinawa when he was in the Marines in '68. Said they were all over the roads there. That was the year they opened their first distributorship here in the states. I know only a few who have or have had one and none were disappointed. Whitefang
  20. Yeah, many tried that jive about reincarnation. Likely Christians trying to dissuade people from believing in it. Actually, reincarnation has nothing to do with "coming back" as a bug or animal or some such crap. Depending on the life you've lived your soul at death attains a level of astral plane in concert with your spiritual consciousness. You are given host to a new physical vessel after an undetermined length of contemplation. To simplify, the idea is, with each subsequent life you're given chance to improve your spirituality and relation to your fellow man and will keep being reborn until you reach a level so sublime you finally achieve Nirvana. Which has nothing to do with a grunge band. 🥴 As for choosing your gender, you can choose to be any gender you wish to. Just as I can choose to be a superhero. It will never mean I'll really be one, but I can make that choice. But to address what 40 was saying up there.... I knew a girl in high school who claimed we were all animals before we "came back" as humans. And that she could tell by looking at someone which animal they were. She decided to display that "talent" in English class. Not surprising, most of the girls in the class used to be cats. And(of course) the boys were mostly dogs. Or monkeys. She told me I was once a horse. I had to laugh. Had she seen me without my pants on a horse would have never garnered consideration. Whitefang
  21. And even maybe a condom too. Gotta be safe, right? Whitefang
  22. "This Diamond Ring"--Gary Lewis and The Playboys Whitefang
  23. I've seen them worn while they're driving a car. WHILE below the speed limit. Whitefang
