  1. Rather its true or not, I don't know but my oldest sister was a music teacher and claimed Ringo was the few drummers who had perfect timing. My wife claims the same thing.
  2. I have questions about guitars in closets. I put a cheap acoustic guitar my wife bought me in a closet and left it there. 30 years later I took it out and the bridge was pulled loose and bent up 3/8". It's an Oscar Smidth. Was going to toss it out but I still have it and thinking about having it fixed. Its so old, I want to hear it. The wood is aged great. Its a jumbo.
  3. Yes indeed I think you do have it all there?
  4. I haven't seen or heard Dion so long I almost forgot about him. Used to listen to him a lot growing up. He's good.
  5. I got a Gretsch a couple weeks back from Sweetwater. A Jet with a Bristol Fog finish. I had a Jet as a teen which was my favorite guitar to go to. It was a silver jet.
  6. They do look nice. I like the Pelhame blue.
  7. I'll wait for the leaves to finish dropping and see if our son will come and do the house?
  8. At the Railroad, I would always jump from one car to the next. We carried hatch coveres from one to another on program cars.
  9. I used to go up on the roof and climb all over like a monkey. I did roofing when I was laid off from the railroad. Now at 70, with the peaks our house has, I feel very insecure. My dad fell off 2 roofs when he was alive. It actually scares me some now. My wife says, I'll hire it done and I say....No you Won't. I can still go up. That's just a guys ego talking Lol. But yeah, so many things you actually can't do anymore as we age. My wife's aunt fell 3 steps and broke her neck. There was some name for a bone? Anyway, she died. Both our parents have been long gone. I have fallen several times and once in the basement getting Christmas decorations off the shelf. I fell on the concrete floor cracking my skull open. had several staples. they said I had a concussion. Funny though, I was waiting for the doctor to show up and stitch it up and was wondering what was taking him so long. I started talking to myself. (Where is this guy coming from? Kansas City? If he was driving from Des Moines, He should be here by now!) Lol, I didn't know it was him in the hall on a computer listening to me. Guess they have to let concussion victims sit a long time and observe them first?
  10. I felt like I spent so many decades wanting to reach retirement age and when it finally came, I whooped it up all the way home from the party singing. Then I suddenly thought, What am I celebrating for? If I make it to 100, over half my life is gone. I really don't want to see the 90's. I've seen too many make the 90's and there's nothing good about them.
  11. Actually I did. I hit it on the wall. Deb was on the toilet and heard a thud.
  12. I was 8 in 61 and 20 in 73. I always thought you were a little older than you are?
  13. Here's a new one. I was taking off my shirt and and as it went on top of my head, I couldn't see anything, lost my balance and fell towards the bathroom sinks. That was a first for me.
  14. We've been getting rid of stuff. Whats funny is when the grandkids are over, they see the stuff we are throwing away and it goes to their house, LOL.
  15. When I don't feel I have 20 years left. My best years are gone.
  16. I could never remember what model it was? Especially after that brain tumor I had. Iv'e just been trying to identify it as no one believed I actually had such an amp for home use. I think my mom bought it for me for my 16th Birthday? I remember my mom coming down to my room saying; "Your knocking off pictures off the wall again." And that was 1/2 volume. When she was gone one day, I cranked it up some to see what it would do. LOl, I only did that once. I showed the amp to Rob.
  17. Nice. I have a Gold top standard that looks the same. I had an amp as a teen my mom bought for me, I could never remember the brand? I've been searching for decades on end to find out what it was. It was from the 60's or 70's. It stood as tall as your double stack and had a head on top. About 5 & a half feet tall or better. A tube amp. Anyway I found it finally. It probably was a Sunn? had 4 large speakers and 2 smaller ones. I remember I couldn't turn the volume up, It went from off to about an 1/8' turn on volume and had sustain like crazy. Just kept building louder and louder if I let it. Tried to tell my mom it was for large outdoor concerts and not for bedrooms. Lol I sold it at 28 years old.
  18. As a young teen, I went to Disney Land & bought the original "I Was A Teen Age Werewolf" mask they had of Michael Landens movie. Those days, only masks that had rubber bands behind were sold. I had the hands to it also. My parents used to deck out the house in Halloween. Those days had the Creature Feature tv show on Fridays, and I went downtown with my friend to have some fun. Dr. San Guinary was downtown signing autographs in Council Bluffs. We drove the car around sicking my head out howling. I had my friend drive. We walked around going in and out the stores, Finally we saw Dr. San Guinary by the ranks store with a long line of kids. We went up on the top of the roof where there was a parking lot. I was howling in the air, They kept looking at me and all the kids ran away from the Dr. and came to me wanting autographs Lol. They thought that I was Igor on the show. Ranks shut the lights off on top to get his kids back so he could sign more autographs. Yeah it was a great mask for the time. My sister borrowed it and ruined it. That one in the 60's cost $45.00. One of a kind.
  19. It was great. I still remember them doing FOOL ON THE HILL. He was playing piano on a round platform on stage that turned. As it kept turning, that round platform kept getting taller and taller raising him way up. I thought it was ironic that the song lyrics went "Round & Round as he spun. But we've seen some great concerts. and most of the best. We saw the Eagles 4 times and worth it each time. Fleetwood Mac twice and Santana once. ext.
  20. We have been to a ton of concerts, some amusing, Paul Revere and the Raiders had everyones concern of them. They danced, kicked up their legs high had like Robin Hood tights on and large fat bellies. Everyone thought they might have heart attacks doing the concert as then, I could hear real good and their was talk all over of them. In their 70's and they were like a girls chorus line kicking up so high the whole show. Lol. I thought the two best ones we saw were that McCartney & Linda one in Ames and The Pink Floyd Wall concert and it was an Anniversary present together. It was all the laser light show that made it special.
  21. OK, I asked the wife and she couldn't remember either. She bought a t shirt at that concert and looked. It was called the" World Tour in 1990." The shirt has the band names of all that were in it. but I didn't read them all, You can look them up if you want their names. Like I said, this concert that year was in Ames Iowa. It was the first time we saw Paul. Deb was going to see the Beatles together before I even knew her but she broke her foot and her parents wouldn't let her go. I know her dad died in a plane crash when she was 13. But I don't remember when she broke her foot.
