  1. Oliver is laying down in front of my desk on his rug. Looking around at the sounds exploding. Outside, it bothers him and he won't go potty till its over. He runs for the house door. It never bothered my other dobermans. But they heard my guns before. We have a 11:00 shut off to but everyone ignores that rule and shoots them off till 12:30 to 1:00. That has been going on here for a week now. If it goes on one more day, I'm half tempted to start firing some of my big guns off.
  2. I was very fortunate. At 16, my uncle in the Air Force, gave me a whole tool chest full of tools. Craftsman and I added Snap on to it in my racing days. I had more tools than I needed so my wife gave me a very large Tool Chest to hold them all several years back. Now full of metric and standard. 2 drawers just for hammeres. Have a gardening tool drawer, one for scissors, Kineves, Automotive like oil wrenches, timing light, All my battery chargers are in the top and it has outlets for them and plugs to a 110 with a on/off switch.
  3. by the way Ken, How is the smoke up there? That Mackinac Island tour for September still hasn't canceled and Iv'e wondered how bad the smoke was there? Of course its still 3 months away.
  4. Guess it was an inside joke among teachers. They all said it. I was invited to a lot of teacher parties way back. They had some pretty hilarious teachers.
  5. Many still race in their 70's. John Force still races Funny Cars at 74. I heard Don Garlets is still at it as well as others. It is very dangerous. Iv'e known several who lost their lives. Sorry to hear of your loss. I raced 3 cars in the NHRA. It was fun while it lasted. If I had another car? I'd be doing it all over again. I'm 70. It's the risk you take.
  6. My wife was a teacher. They had a saying, "Never teach a Pig to sing, It both wastes your time and annoys the Pig." Always remembered that. At BNSF I had a friend that was serious about wanting to learn how to play chess. I spent 3 months basicaly trying to teach him how the pieces move. Trying to get past that, I was always going back saying, Thats an illegal move! You can't move that way. Anyway, That's what I ended up telling him. Lol. Chess was NOT HIS GAME AND HE COULDN'T LEARN. No wonder, every single day he had to be retrained at work I heard.
  7. Our son gave up his bike long ago. He claims Omaha is the worst for riding bikes. Pot holes, chuck holes and sand is all over all the streets. My Uncle had a bike when I was a small kid. He would give me rides on it. He would play Evil Knievel and try jumps and stuff on it. I fell off that bike many times, Him screwing around on it. So I grew up hating them.
  8. Thats one thing that has bothered me. NO CASE. My son bought a custom Ephi, for $900 & some with no case. Just not right.
  9. While nobody can tell you exactly what you should do, I thought I would never buy a Ephiphone. My first was a Standard and I was shocked how well it played and looked. My next one was a Casino and now I have 3. I have never had a problem with any. To me, If, I can afford the Gibson, Gibson it is. If not? Then why not Epiphone? We can't all be Warren Buffet.
  10. I used to do a lot of things I don't do anymore. Racing my car down the quarter mile. (I was Points leader.) The car went on a wild wheel stand off the line breaking the wheelie bars, and my wife kept pressuring me to quit. Tried surfing, Been up in helicopter rides, Used to do roofing and painting when I was laid off from the RailRoad. I've painted Commercial, Residential, Apartments. Don't go up on ladders anymore. If I had another race car? I would try it outLol. Would not go out in the ocean anymore. Mostly my wife put an end to most things. I hardly do Art work anymore. Still play one chess game everynight on my Kasparov computer.
  11. Yes, You do awesome work and it looks great.
  12. I bet it does. I have a Jumbo that needs a new bridge. It's pulled away. I plan on getting it repaired just to see what it sounds like? Over 40 years old. The wood should be well aged.
  13. When our son was stationed in Pensacola Florida, he wanted his car. So Deb & I drove it down to him. There was 2" of snow on the road at the most. No body seemed to know how to drive in that Lol. Cars were in ditches everywhere, Semi Trucks jackknifed on ramps on the interstates, and in ditches. We had my sons Cougar with no problems whatsoever. We did have to find an alternate route as it took us most of the day to go through that mess. They might cancel that trip if smoke is still down at Mackinac Island this September?
  14. I have several pedals and a multi effects amp. Never use the pedals anymore.
  15. It used to snow many times here per year at least 10 to 18 inches. Still remember shoveling 13" of snow in April on Easter at the other house. Now it hardly snows much or even gets over an inch. Maybe two " at most.
  16. Thanks. Never thought about it? Debbie has her mind set on it, It's already paid for. Actually the trip is not till September though so things should or could change?
  17. Im limited to standing at length also. Weird as I can walk at length but not stand in one spot. That guitar looks way to big for him, lol.
  18. I always wondered about that? Yes, all the finger work and chords are left handed. The right hand just picks or strums. Never tried a so called left handed guitar? Now I wonder if I could play better on one? My left arm was the one injured at 13 and it was so difficult to learn to play again as it was almost cut off. They had to find all the nerves that were cut but the thump nerve they couldn't find. My right hand fingers move faster.
  19. Blue Skys here today, we don't see smoke but there is something in the air making me cough and sneeze.
  20. I used to have one for decades. After I married it started to give me sore backs. By By.
  21. When my wife used to teach the gifted kids in EY decades back, They came up with some genius robots. They are around the age to make stuff like this now. I admit this being the best I've seen yet.
  22. Wish I would have kept about 3 guitars I had as a teen. That's nice Murph.
  23. Really? Great! Thought I was the only one that waited so long. I could have bought a Gibson Lucille on my 65th Birthday. My wife took me to a guitar shop and said, "Pick out Any guitar you want." I tried about everything they had on the wall. I wasn't very impressed with the Lucille. Seemed to be used. Stuff was loose on it. I played a Gretsch and fell in love with its tone.
  24. Me either. Lol. Always wanted a Gibson like my cousins since 13. Never could afford one. Probably why I waited till I was 60 and stumbled over that great deal I found at GC ? Talking about washing machines We just bought a new washer and dryer. Our Maytag is 21 years old, The dryer squeaks really loud like its going out, and it was repaired 9 months ago.
  25. Have to admit, that does sound good. So what foods do you eat? Especially protein?
