  1. If I had a wall that long, that's what I'd do too. Nice! 👌
  2. Rabs, Lots of interesting grain around knots & fissures. Is there any reason why they cant be incorporated into a body? I realise sometimes the gaps would be too open to fill properly, but does it present any structural problem?
  3. Hi Fran, Nice shot. I can see very well now. Not used these strings myself, but they look like they should be tough, but maybe there is something about the design that doesnt suit your bridge? I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try a different set to compare. I have used regular Ernie Ball, also the Cobalt versions. My preferred ones though are the Paradigms. Perhaps some uncoated strings would be the first thing to try? I had hoped another user with a wrap around bridge would have chimed in before now. There are some v experienced users here. Lets know how you get on whatever you try. Good luck ME
  4. Does it work the other way around as well? BTW fig looks nice
  5. Swimming this afternoon. Both indoor & outdoor pools. Tried out the new googles. Why didnt I get some of these before? So much better. We grabbed coffee after at an Italian restaurant.
  6. Yes, I bluetooth my music & guitar through the THR simultaneously. I also got the Relay G10 to keep everything wireless. Daylight hours its kept on charge, but I bring it into my sitting room in the evening for fully wireless playing. I was a bit uncertain at day one, but I love it now. Its a small unit but makes a big sound through twin speakers. Very much benefits from the colab between Line 6 modeling & Yamaha hi-fi. I've only created one preset (via digital link) which is very close to my live sound.
  7. Hi Fran, I've not heard of this issue before. I cant imagine that there is anything wrong with your string choice. Is it just the unwound strings? Are strings breaking at the 'bend' point? Where they bend back on themselves after emerging from the holes? If so, are the strings still partially entwined at that point (I would think not)? Does the break point on the bridge feel too sharp? Pictures might help. Probably best to use a 3rd party hosting site. In the short term maybe you could try to protect the strings by cutting some electrical wire sleeving into short pieces to protect the strings at the break-point. It shouldnt affect the sound or function in any way.
  8. Thats a fine looking guitar. Liking the gold hardware. Congrats 👌 Supremes I've seen before had mini humbuckers. I've just done another search and found some that are semi-hollow. Is there a defining feature to a Supreme?
  9. On my recently acquired Yamaha THR30, I'm using very slight amount of flanger just to smooth over any clipped peaks. Its not enough to notice the flanger though. Obviously thats just for home use.
  10. The undersaddle PU & dual output feature is attractive. Everything else is a bit bland.
  11. Sounds as if your timing was spot on. Congrats & Enjoy !
  12. sh1#! That's an ordeal and a half. I know about sleep deprivation, but never been stung like that. My ladyfriend had a wasps nest gassed a week ago, but we knew where that one was. Hope you recover before too much longer Spar.
  13. Confirmed 👌 There's also Bashing the Bishop
  14. Yeah. Its an act of devotion. The anointing ceremony before the string change rite.
  15. Yeah, you got some form. I offered my services as your probation officer, but I think they thought that I was either: 1/ joking 2/ being stupid
  16. That's a shame. I've heard of this sort of thing but not seen it nor experienced it. Could it be because the ebony is stressed at that point ? Or do you think it might be due to dryness? Maybe a bit of both? Either way, I hope it doesnt spoil the feel of the fingerboard.
  17. I'm not suggesting the oil will reincarnate the tree. Nevertheless the wood still absorbs water & oil. The point of the post remains: I don't expect an answer to this. Just trying to open the discussion or maybe trigger some further thought.
  18. I actually compiled somebodies posts once (not here). Over that sort of thing now Chank Thrist 😉
