MorrisrownSal
I tried to send you a message, but it says you cant receive new ones. SO I gotst to do it in public! 1) Songwriting is so natural to you. What an amazing gift. This song is stunning. 2) Do you realize how many songs you have written that some how have "light" in it? 3) Ok. I have buttered you up. I want permission to take on of your songs - the chord progression... Be My Friend and use my own words, and present it to my wife for her birthday later today. I will give appropriate credit and the hat tip to Del!

E-minor7
First thought this one was about trying to give the J-35 a little tan*. I was wrong - Nice tune with a nice atmosphere around it - it carries the tradition further with earthly grace, , , , *Yeah, it takes a summer from early May to mid-October under sun to give those pale tops a touch of warmth. It slowly begins to happen for my F-bird now - noticed it this morning, it'll end up beautiful. Last year my thoroughly anemic barytone-guitar took the treat - Lying in the light. . . I could write about the Walter Mitty secret gal of course.... But I hate porn music. Anyways since I borrowed his tune, I felt he was entitled to have the words. And the idiot wont clear out his mailbox so you cant send him this crap privately.

ParlourMan
is it Badgery enough PM ? ;) http://soundcloud.co...ng-in-the-light Ok, here we go.... Put simply, when you're on it, you're on it and that is it right there. I loved it, lyrically it still touches on familiar stuff such as "went to the doctor...to find a cure" and it's 45-50 seconds too long to be perfect, but it screams out much more who I think you are and not an Americana version of it, if you know what I mean? I honestly think you should listen to The Tallest man on Earth, check out how he varies up repeating patterns to create small but really effective dynamics in the guitar lines. Especially for songs where there's a bit of space going on. Del, no bullshit or whatnot, thought it were proper decent. A leap in the right direction if you ask me. Get it down to the 3min - 3.15 mark, tighten up the vocal at the higher register notes and I'll talk dirty to ye.

MissouriPicker
Sounds great, Del. No bull crap. Good, good song. I love the songs that tell me where someone has been. Don't know if you've ever heard them, but it has a feel and sound of the old Folkway records from the early 60's. You've got that earthy, simple, and raw sound that make the song interesting and intriguing from the very start. I think the J35 sounds superb. Love that raspy and somewhat muted thump. You don't need multiple harmonies, a thunderous chorus, or manufactured sounds to have a great song and this is a high caliber piece of work to my ears. Very easy-on-the-ears. It doesn't have to be a perfect recording if it's a perfect song. So different from the high tech cardboard cowboys and hip hop artists currently on the radio. I tend to look-for and focus more on this kind of music. Good stuff.
