fortyearspickn
Lots of imagery there. I assume he's talking about himself.
E-minor7
Good piece too - though the melody is vague, the words lift it up.

QuestionMark
My armchair analysis of Dylan's new song... I kinda view this song as a continuation of Dylan's Zen exploration of the self and mindset that started circa 1966, that seems to keep him sane from all the prophet labeling that started early in his career. And, also kept his music from being single labelled categorized since that point. I wouldn't doubt that he needed to get back to that as this song's validation seems to indicate due to its timing, possibly because of all the pigeon-holing and ego-wrestling that his winning the Nobel prize can bring. He's basically saying the self can't/shouldn't be categorized or labelled. Or more specifically, he seems to be saying he feels best not one dimensionally labelling or categorizing his self. Dylan, to me, just keeps inspiring and inspiring... That's my interpretation of the song. And, of Dylan (at this moment). QM aka "Jazzman" Jeff ps. I like the nylon string guitar and steel guitar in the song. Edited April 19, 2020 by QuestionMark
