Sgt. Pepper
The '97 Fender American Series (Fender were not calling them American Standards at that moment) started out life stock as a dual humbucker Strat. I'll post a pic when I get home. I ripped out the pups and tone chased. I had Fender Eric Johnson pups in it and then Rio Grandes. It was the best of the 4 Strats I owned. bigtim
Well I must admit I got my first MIM Fender the other day. It is a 2009 72 reissue tele. Someone took and updated everything in it. So it has a bone nut, Duncan hot rails and Duncan JB Jazz neck pick up, push pull alpha pots, Joe Barden Tele bridge with the graph tech compensated saddles, locking tuners and they also copper shielded the control cavity. I was a big idiot for never looking at these MIM before. The only thing I am not 100 percent on is the 7.25 fretboard radius but I am getting used to it. I cannot believe how good it feels while sitting down playing it. Edited January 22, 2021 by bigtim

Had this one a few years now, said when I brought it home I would do this. This is a2017 Mexican Strat, it was some limited thingy at GC. It was stupid on sale and I had a bag of mics to trade so I basically brought it home for nothing. It started life HSS. For about a day, it got a set of Duncan Stacks in it. Before: After: Pair of Duncan Saturday Night Specials. Nice pickups! That was fun. rct Looks great. I spent way too much time trying to figure out what was going on though. Wouldn't the guitar you brought home have been SSS, not HSS? Or am I missing something? I'm so confused.
rct
No, I brought home a HSS Strat, and said something to Mrs about one of these days finally making my own HH Strat. I didn't have a HH pickguard, didn't have a pair of Hums I was enamored with, it needed routing for front hum, and I had an SSS white pearl guard and a set of stacks, so I hooked it up quick so I could use it a while. Turned out I like the Pau Ferro fingerboard a lot, so I finally got around to it! rct

I said if its good enough for Stevie Ray, its good enough for me. Nothing wrong with Pau Ferro. Edited January 22, 2021 by Sgt.
