I have a question about strings.

I think they should.   I usually have to snip some off so...you'll be ok.   I have an ES175 with a Bigsby and standard length strings are ok.

"Extra long guitar strings"....

"Hey man I'm playing an extended guitar solo, I need these extra long strings" [wink]

How is your Riviera - it's got the 3 P90s hasn't it?

Yes it does. Love those 3 P-90's too. Its really  not that much different than playing the Casino but I do hear a difference between the two.  It has  higher bell like tones.  Just rings out more. I don't use the Bigsby on it though., but it came with it.  Thanks JD, I looked at D'Addario's first at 2 guitar stores and they had the extra longs but not the set I wanted.  I was looking for NYXL 110 P 10-46. I saw them on the net but can't find any. So Earnie Ball is my next choice.

Just thinking about how much string gets cut off when putting new strings on, there is almost no perceivable way that is not long enough for any regular guitar application -- for any brand.  I use D 'Addario, but Ernie Ball makes great strings.

I believe the Riviera uses the same D Adario strings as the other Epiphone Electrics & they’re all std size... I use std size strings on all my Gibson & Epi Guitars with Bigsby’s... That said, I don’t use Ernie Ball Slinky’s...

On my electrics, I have found that Ernie Ball 10-46 regular slinky's hold up very well with my tremolo abuse. In another life I used Nashville Straights for quite a while. I also like Rotosound, which I would use more frequently, if they were readily available at my local stores.

I just watched a video of Adrian Belew on Rig Rundown and he says he uses the D'Adarrio NYLX strings cause he can whammy the hell out of 'em and they stay in tune. He is also using carbon fiber Parker Fly guitar. And he's Adrian Belew.

Kuwel avant-garde fusion player, he does have some very advanced  tuners helping him stay in tune.

Crimson was a big influence on me..

I saw em twice. On Beat and 3 Of A Perfect Pair Tours. Red is my fav. Love any album with the line up that includes Wetton and Bruford. I wanted to go see him, but it was over 3 hours away in the middle of the week. Krimson was going to come to DC with a band of Zappa alumni opening and then the world changed.
